About this file
This justification and approval document describes a sole source contract award for ammonium perchlorate. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division requires 47,500 pounds of ammonium perchlorate from American Pacific Corporation, the only qualified manufacturer capable of meeting the detail specification. A sources sought notice and pre-solicitation notice yielded no other potential offerors. The one-year contract value is $1,000,000. The contracting officer will determine if the anticipated cost is fair and reasonable. While no immediate plans exist to introduce competition, the agency will assess any new potential sources that emerge.
