About this file

This document is an Amendment (0001) to a federal solicitation for SolidWorks PDM Professional installation and training services. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWC Carderock) is seeking a contractor to install SolidWorks PDM Professional software, configure a data management vault with access controls, and provide training for 30 users on software usage and 5 users on administration. The solicitation requires one week of on-site installation at 2600 Tarawa Court in Virginia Beach, VA, with all training conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams, and the entire project to be completed within 6 weeks of contract award.

Key specifications include installing PDM Professional on a government-provided computer with 22 existing licenses, implementing approximately five large assembly models, providing post-implementation consulting support (10 hours over 12 months), and delivering training sessions with vendor-supplied materials. The amendment extends the response due date from April 23 to April 28, 2025, and maintains the $34 million business size standard. The data to be handled will be unclassified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), with the contractor required to have experts knowledgeable in SolidWorks PDM Professional processes.

QUESTIONS FROM INDUSTRY AND ANSWERS FROM CUSTOMER

1. Do you know how many PDM Professional licenses are needed for this PDM Professional implementation?

- We currently are procuring 22 PDM Professional licenses.

2. Could you provide me with additional details as to whether you are looking to install PDM Standard or PDM Professional, and how many users you would need to have access to the PDM vaults?

- We need installation services for PDM Professional software, and we have 22 licenses of Solidworks PDM Professional. We currently have 22 network licenses of Solidworks CAD (mixed between Premium and Professional). We have additional standalone users within the command.

3. The solicitation does not include any implementation services. Are you planning to self-implement?

- We are intending to implement our current models into the system ourselves due to security limitations.

4. Regarding 001, what does this mean: "with the ability to apply access controls to each different model."?

- Within the vault installation of Solidworks PDM Professional, we intend to have different CAD projects siloed from one another. We would like to have access controls on each model, so only certain users can see models they have permissions to.

5. Do you have a server that meets PDM minimum requirement and SQL Standard licensing?

- We currently have a dedicated server running Windows Server 2022 and SQL 2022. The computer has 18 terabytes of storage and twice the recommended amount of RAM.

N0016725Q10300001

6. We do not offer an unlimited training option. We can quote training per user. How many users will they need for training?

- We will require 30 users for Solidworks PDM Professional training (actual use of the software, this can be provided virtually).

- We will require 5 users for training on how to administer SW PDM Professional (from the IT perspective).

7. I wanted to find out a little more information especially on the installation, such as what are your workflows, integrations, etc. Is it a 5-day implementation or a 100 day implementation?

- We do not have Solidworks PDM Professional installed currently. We are currently using Solidworks CAD products within the office. The government team will be implementing approximately five large assembly models into the software to start. Services for connecting the features of the software to the models once loaded into PDM will be required. Additional information on the question will be needed to fully answer the question.
