Text version
First I don’t know if our lifters would lift a polyurethane material. We would need a small 10” square scrap piece sent to us to see if vacuum would even work.
· Would you be able to provide a sample for testing?
No. Material is sensitive.
Assuming it does, I would need:
- A drawing and/or some dimensioned pictures of the work piece (Need to know surface thickness also) See below.
- Better idea of what is being requested with the ergonomic adjustable handle.
No preference here.
- Better idea of what “Electric powered self-cycling” means.
Vacuum pump(s) just needs to be easily powered with a standard outlet. If the pigtail can be very long (~40’) it would be preferable so we don’t need to use extension cords. Vacuum needs to be controlled automatically to turn on/off as needed to ensure vacuum is not lost during lifting.
- Better idea of what (4) extra sets of seal kits means.
At least two replacements for whatever compliant material forms the seal on the cups or a cup itself just in case compliant material is damaged.
- Regarding the lifter lockout, we can offer a enable button on the pendant so the operator has to push (2) buttons to either attach or release BUT a load sensing lockout is meant more for mechanical drives which a vacuum does not have. I don’t understand what they are asking for here and its function.
- Do you already have an Overhead Crane or JIB Crane in place to the Vacuum Lifter?
- If yes, Can you send me the drawing / specs of the crane?
This is not at our facility but is at the LCC Memphis, they have not provided that level of detail, only that it has a lifting capacity more than ample for handling this panel and associated vacuum lifter but I can ask again if need be.
What is the thickness range of the material?
Total completed panel thickness will be 8.5”+/- 0.25”
Is 16 FT. x 4 FT. the only size? Is the material rigid? Yes, this is the only size.
Material is bonded onto steel backing plate so is fairly rigid.
Is surface flat, no convex or concave surfaces?
Top suction surface will be flat rubber; bottom will be steel. Panel is basically 16FTx4FTx8.5IN roughly 5000lb unit. There are a few cutouts on the top that will need to be avoided with suction cups but I believe I already provided that info.
Is surface hard, smooth, non-porous?
Smooth, non-porous rubber surface.
Do you know the thickness of the polyurethane? This will let us calculate how much overhang we can allow.
Baseplate is 0.75” steel and the rest is laminated urethane/rubber.
