PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
Leica Laser Tracker Calibrations
1. BACKGROUND
Leica Laser Trackers are measuring instruments that measuring objects through the use of eyesafelasers and optical targets. Yearly calibration is required to ensure the product is retaining the machine specifications of +/- 0.001 inch.
Without authenticated calibration certificates, inspection reports and data could be considered unreliable. The majority of projects that the Code 10264 is tasked with include inspection, data analysis and alignment of major components on the Ohio Replacement Project (ORP) Pressure Hull Models, which rely upon laser tracker measurements. All the tasks require reliable, accurate, and timely delivery of inspection data, for which laser tracker data plays an important role. Being part of an in-process inspection step in all ORP inspection, laser tracking is regarded as a critical role through the project’s life cycle and determines the quality of the project. Laser tracking data is a major contributor to final deliverables of ORP project due to its ability to record data in areas that are impossible to record manually. Outside the ORP project, laser tracking is used to support various codes within NAVSEA, including alignments, reverse engineering, and both in-process and final inspection of fabricated parts.
Any delay due to instrument calibrations will cause Ohio Replacement and VLTA project wide delays, dramatically increasing project cost and delaying the project schedule. This could be caused do to the instrument being past its calibration date or a delay in the return of the instrument. These customers heavily rely on the accuracy of the Leica laser trackers and typically request documentation stating the instrument(s) have been calibrated within the past year by a Leica certified technician. Timely delivery of inspection reports critically hinge upon the speed to generate accurate and reliable inspection data.
2. STATEMENT OF WORK
The main tasks are as follows:
Task 1: Leica AT960 Factory Calibration:
Task 1A: Instrument Calibration: Calibration of Leica AT960 laser tracker by a Leica factory certified technicians. Calibration includes ADM calibration, encoder calibration, weather temperature and pressure calibration, and geometric calibration.
Task 1B: Certificate of Calibration: Certificate of calibration will include ADM calibration results, encoder calibration results, weather temperature and pressure sensor calibration results, geometric calibration, back sight check results, uniformity test and results.
