The Navy is seeking one large stationary ultraviolet light disinfection system that can disinfect items placed inside the enclosure from the side using a forklift. While the original solicitation specified items would be placed in from above via forklift, the questions and answers clarify the Navy expects items to enter from the side instead. The main solicitation seeks one UV disinfection system with an option for an additional unit. Questions and Answers N00024-20-T-1205

Q1
The Performance Work Statement specifies that the characteristics should include “Shall have sufficient space for items to be placed in and removed from the UV enclosure via forklift.” Does this mean that items to be disinfected will all be placed into the UV enclosure via forklift from above?
A1
We expect all items will be placed inside the enclosure from the side (vice the top) but still disinfect on all four sides as well as the top.
