About this file

This Material Ordering Data document specifies procurement requirements for high-carbon cast-steel grit for the Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Puget Sound. The document details precise technical specifications for 100 drums of G50 grade steel grit, including requirements for hardness (54-61 HRC), durability per SSPC AB3, and mandatory use of new manufactured grit. Packaging specifications mandate steel drums that are poly-lined and sealed, with pallets poly-covered.

The document outlines comprehensive sampling and testing protocols, including a detailed sample size schedule based on lot size and rigorous hardness testing procedures. Critically, if any sample fails testing, the entire order will be rejected. Additional requirements include marking containers per MIL-STD-129 and adherence to specific SAE and ASTM standards for cast shot and grit sizing, with all referenced specifications required to be at their latest revision at time of award.
