About this file
This Material Ordering Data document specifies requirements for high-carbon cast-steel grit for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime. The order calls for 50 drums (1,600 lbs) of G50L grade grit with a hardness range of 54 to 61 HRC, conforming to SAE J1993 and SAE J444 specifications. Key requirements include new manufactured grit (recycled grit is not acceptable), steel drums that are poly-lined and sealed, and pallets that are poly-covered.
The document details rigorous testing protocols, including a specific sampling schedule based on lot size, with samples tested for hardness and chemical/physical properties. If any sample fails, the entire order will be rejected. Containers must be marked according to MIL-STD-129, and vendors must follow DLA Procurement Note C20. The solicitation (SPMYM2-25-Q-1407) requires quotes to be submitted via email by 11 AM Pacific Time on 04/15/2025, with specific compliance requirements including DFARS 252.204-7019 & 252.204-2020 documentation.
