Answer 1

Sunday mornings at 0900; when the choir is in session arrive at 0800 to ensure Choir musicians are rehearsed prior to service, the Catholic choir/ensemble schedule is up in the air since Covid -19, but is generally a mid week practice (cannot be Thursday as there is another service in the Memorial Chapel at that time which practices Mondays)

Varies but since the Funeral Mass or Command Memorial for a Roman Catholic Service member is liturgy specific it would require flexibility.

MEMORIAL CHAPEL MCAS CHERRY POINT

This contract is part-time and establishes the duties of the Catholic Pianist at Memorial Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. This contract begin 01 August 2020 to 31 July 2021 as the base year, with four (4) option years.

The contractor will provide professional expertise and support for chapel services at Memorial Chapel, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, including but not limited to:

1. Prior to working in this position the contractor must:

a. Have a degree in piano performance from an accredited institution and/or at least three years’ experience as a church pianist.

b. Must be able to read music from the Armed Forces Hymnal and demonstrate competence through a resume and an audition and oral interview with the command chaplain.

c. Obtain a background check from the local police department at the contractor’s own expense.

d. Secure a contractor badge, within five (5) working days of contract award, from Pass and ID (Bldg. 251/(252) 466-5921), regardless of any other military ID card, which the contractor currently owns. The contractor must display his/her contractor badge at all times while working in the vicinity of his/her duties.

e. Attend an orientation brief given by the Memorial Chapel staff.

2. Roman Catholic music program.

a. Provide piano support every Sunday at the Roman Catholic Mass.

b. Provide piano support for special Catholic observances and associated rehearsals, including but not limited to: holy days, Christmas, Lent and Easter services.

c. Provide piano support for the mid-week Roman Catholic choir rehearsal.

d. Consult with the Roman Catholic chaplain regarding special music requirements.

3. At the request of the Catholic Director of Religious Education provide musical support and expertise for the Roman Catholic Faith Formation program.

4. When directed by the Command Chaplain, provide piano support for memorial services and associated rehearsals.

5. When unavailable for a service, provide a qualified substitute. Contractor will advise the chapel contracting officer of their absence at least one week in advance.

6. Apprise the command chaplain of malfunctioning musical instruments and required service.

7. Remain professionally current through personal study, training, conferences, workshops and seminars at your own expense.

8. Estimated work schedule will be 5 hours per week, primarily on Sundays for service.

3. CONTRACTORS UNAUTHORIZED WORK PERFORMANCE: The contractor shall not perform work that deviates from contract requirements. If the contractor deviates from the contract requirements without approval of the Contract Administrator, such deviation shall be at the risk of the contractor and any cost related thereto shall be borne by the contractor.

3.1. The government will periodically evaluate the contractor’s performance by appointing a representative to monitor the quality of service and to ensure services are received. The Government Point of Contact (POC) will evaluate the contractor’s performance based on periodic inspections and feedback from the Chaplains and program participants. The POC will inspect all billing documents to ensure taxes are not charged and charges do not exceed contract limits.

3.2. If services do not conform to the contract requirements the government may require the contractor to perform the service again in conformity with contract requirements, at no increase in the contract amount. When the defect(s) in services cannot be corrected by re-performance, the government may:

3.2.1. Require the contractor to take necessary action to ensure that future performance conforms to contract requirements; and

3.2.2. Reduce the contract price to reflect the reduced value of the services performed.

BASE ACCESS. DBIDS PROGRAM.

Marine Corps Installations East - Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River have implemented new DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) Program intended to enhance Installation access control. In order to gain access to Marine Corps Base (MCB), Camp Lejeune and/or Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), New River, non-Federal Government and non-DOD issued ID cardholders require identity proofing and vetting to determine eligibility for access. Specifically, a check of records through National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Interstate Identification Index (III) is Installation's minimum background check for access to MCB, Camp Lejeune and/or MCAS, New River for non-Common Access Card holders, to include access of visitors.

MCB, Camp Lejeune and MCAS, New River applies following non-Federal Government cardholder criteria to determine authorized type of access control credentials: a. Contractors: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass b. Sub-Contractors: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass c. Vendors: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass d. Suppliers: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass e. Service Providers: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass f. Delivery Personnel: DBIDS or up to a 120-Day Pass

The contractor will register and submit a monthly electronic invoice of services rendered thorough Wide Area Work Flow-Receipt and Acceptance (WAWF-RA) within (10) calendar days after award of this contract or modification at https://wawf.eb.mil to electronically process vendor requests for payment. The period covered and contract number must be on each invoice. The contractor shall ensure a business Point of Contact is designated in Systems for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov.
