QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Question 1: Are you requiring new cabling?
Answer 1: The Government is not requiring replacement of the existing cabling. The contractor has the option of replacing the existing cabling, but all new cabling must work with the remaining existing equipment: G-644: Smart
Sympodium ID350, Samsung SDP-860 Document Camera, ETA PD8 Conditioned Power Distribution, AMX
NETLINX NI-4100, Converge Pro 880, Vaddio Ceiling View SD Camera and DaLite Electric Screens. DD49:
Smart Podium ID422W, DaLite Electric Screens, Samsung SDP-860 Document Camera, Vaddio Ceiling View SD
Camera, Toshiba DVD/VCR combo, Extron Cross Point Ultra 1616 Matrix Switcher, Extron DA6RGBHV
Distribution Amplifier, AMX NETLINX NI-4100, AMX MVP-8400I Touch Panel, AMX MVP-TDS Docking station, AMX PSN6.5, Sharp 65” LCD.
Question 2: Will the Government provide the Source Code for the Touch Panel?
Answer 2: Reference Paragraphs 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 of the performance work statement: The Government is requiring the contractor to provide and install new touch panels compatible with the new equipment and remaining existing equipment. Providing the source code is not required for G-644 as the Touch Panel will be replaced requiring new programming. The source code for the touch panel at DD-49 is currently proprietary code. If new or additional coding has to be done then the currently installed coding will be removed allowing all new coding to be installed.
Question 3: Is the Government requiring any acoustic paneling.
Answer 3: The Government is not requiring any acoustic paneling.
Question 4: Is there conduit for the existing cabling? If so, can the contractor run new cabling?
Answer 4: There is conduit/cable trays for the existing cabling. Please refer to Question 1 concerning new cabling.
Question 5: What type of Touch Panel is required; recessed or surface mount?
Answer 5: The contractor has the option to provide a recessed or surface mount Touch Panel. Per paragraphs 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 of the performance work statement if a surface mount touch panel is provided the contractor shall provide a decorative plate to cover the hole in the podium left by the existing recessed Touch Panel.
Question 6: Paragraph 5.2.1 of the performance work statement states that a quantity on 12 Control 28 speakers are required for building G-644. During the site visit only 10 locations where identified for these type of speakers.
Where will the 2 additional speakers be placed?
Answer 6: The Government is reducing the quantity of Control 28 speakers from 12 to 10.
Question 7: Paragraph 5.2.1 of the performance work statement states that a quantity of 2 V2-26B wall mountable
Loudspeakers are required with mounts for building G-644. During the site visit it was identified that mounting these speakers using wall mounts would interfere with emergency exit lighting. Where will these speakers be mounted, and what type of mount is required?
Answer 7: The 2 V2-26B comes with Yoke-style mounting bracket with optional 10° and 20° standoffs that allow a
10° or 20° downward or upward vertical tilt. It is requested that the optional Tilting Bracket, VB-TILT be added to allow for the flexibility of mounting the speakers. The VB-TILT appears that it would allow for horizontal installation. If the speakers cannot be installed horizontally above the “Exit” signs then they will be mounted on the side of the pillars.
Question 8: Can the contractor provide lampless projectors?
Answer 8: The contractor has the option to provide lampless projectors meeting the minimum specifications provided in paragraphs 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 of the performance work statement.
Question 9: In requesting the quotation for the Shure items, our vendor informed us that the Prosound ULX Wireless System has been discontinued and there is a replacement for it.
Answer 9: The Shure QLXD124/85 is an acceptable replacement for the ULX124/85-G3.
