MEMORANDUM FOR AFSC/PZIM

1. 76 SMXG is requesting the purchase of: Five (5) AutoCrib E-TOOL FX LOCKERS, with the following specifications:

The Point of Use (POU) cabinets are required to store and distribute laptop (eTool) computers to authorized users. The access to the eTools is mission critical because they are the primary method for viewing electronic technical publications (tech data). The eTools that are stored in the POU cabinets receive daily updates from the TAFB's eTool server to ensure each laptop has current and up-to-date version of tech data available to the mechanic and in accordance with TO 00-5-1. Each time the eTool is returned to the POU cabinet the laptop is re-charged for the next user. The storage of paper tech data libraries are limited and there are plans to continue removing them at
TAFB.
2. This request is for AutoCrib cabinets and equipment that will run on AutoCrib.net software.
AutoCrib.net is a commercial off the shelf (COTS) software that does not require additional development costs. AutoCrib.net is proprietary software currently being used at Tinker AFB.
This software is essential to manage the entire POU product line and associated inventory on an enterprise level within the AFSC. Tinker AFB owns its version of this Autocrib software and can continue to support the POU program in the event Autocrib is no longer a viable company.
Furthermore, AutoCrib.net is more secure since it runs on the AFSC Internal Trusted Network (ITN) as opposed to having an outside source manage POU data located in another city/state.
Additionally, no other brands of POU cabinets and equipment are compatible with AutoCrib.net software.
3. The Government has previously purchased similar lockers from Autocrib, Inc. and for continuity, the Government should purchase the requested lockers. The procurement of the AutoCrib E-TOOL FX LOCKERS will allow for the seamless integration with the existing infrastructure without the need for employee training on new equipment and new software to support the new equipment. Therefore, it is requested that AutoCrib E-TOOL FX LOCKERS is procured to meet all the requirements of the program office and subsequently the warfighters.
