List of Specifications 40’ Containerized Biological Safety (BS) Level 2 Laboratory
A 40’ x 8’ x 9.5 ft container Biological Safety Level 2 laboratory building including onsite delivery to 64 Nowelo Street, Hilo, HI.
Building specifications shall include separated rooms including entry area, anteroom, and laboratory with CDC Biological Safety Level 2 specifications.
o Wall should not contain seams and be made of non-absorbent material o Floors should not contain open seams o Corners should be sealed with non-absorbent material
Building shall be equipped with a central HVAC system with programmable thermostats and provide an inward flow of air to the laboratory section.
Electrical connection should be through a single point and shore power inputs provided.
Single point of connection should be provided for water utilities.
Water will be provided to stainless steel sink and wastewater will be containerized for disinfestation before disposal.
Any interior work surfaces should be made of seamless and impervious material that can withstand common surface disinfectants such as alcohol or sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
Building shall be equipped with data ports with cables run in shielded chases to a patch panel in the anteroom.
Anteroom should be equipped with a pass-through box connecting the Anteroom and the laboratory.
Telephone ports will be provided in the Main Entry.
Doors should be interlocked to assure the airlock is never open on both sides simultaneously.
Cameras (8 CCTV) and digital video recorder (DVR) capable of recording 30 days of video will provide perimeter security and interior security.
As-built drawings will be provided with a test summary of building specifications.
Roof material will protect the interior from outside elements including rain.
Contractor shall assist with the setup (including virtual review of site conditions).
Contractor shall provide transportation to Hilo.
ARS will find and hire vendors to unload the container at the location with assistance from the contractor.
ARS will provide concrete blocks for the building.
Contractor shall ensure the modular building is properly blocked and leveled during installation with an option for future relocation.
Contractor shall ensure that the building is properly anchored, and all tie-downs secured into the ground.
ARS will provide electrical and water hookup from the main facility to the laboratory.
Contractor will ensure that the building is functional and meeting specifications.
Contractor will provide training on building functions.
Contractor will provide a 12-month warranty on defects in workmanship and material.
