8. Questions asked and responses given: (Use Reverse if necessary)
Where is the best water supply?
There are three wells in the area; Coffee Point, Split Top Well, and Apollo Well. The wells are managed by ranchers in the area.
For contact information, call Scott Minnie (BLM Range Management Specialist) – 208-524-7553 or Ben Dyer (Fuels Specialist) at 208-524-7500
How much water is required?
See Spec Section 204.11b
What happens if the roads used to haul water are “beat up” due to the Contractor hauling water?
See Spec Section 156 – Public Traffic. Contractor is required to maintain them in the same condition they were in before hauling.
May the Contractor work on the road at the pit and/or construct a new road to make it easier to get trucks in and out?
See the attached picture of the pit. The square outlining the pit depicts the area within which such work would be allowed.
What is the Period of Performance?
See the SF 18 – 4/20/2015 – 12/01/2015 but currently there is only 6000 CY of material at the pit. There is a separate contract which closed on 3/30/2015 for the crushing of 10,000 more Tons of material. The successful bidder will not be able to begin work until that Contract is completed unless an agreement is reached between the two successful vendors to begin earlier. The Period of performance on that project ends on 7/31/2015 but the project could be finished sooner than that.
What is required to be done on the roadway prior to placing the rock?
See Spec Section 303 – Road Reconditioning. The roads have been rutted since being prepared last Fall but due to the scarcity of water in the area, preparation work to include the requirements of 204.11b (watering and rolling) will be only be required on the Arco-Minidoka Cutoff Road and only in those areas where ruts exceed 2.5 inches for more than 50 feet.
9. Was a complete site inspection made? ∼ Yes ∼ No. (If “No,” explain)
