Which locations shown on the drawings will need to be demolished?
All seven (7) locations shown in the drawings have an existing concrete pad to be demolished. The pad at site C14 is ADA accessible and is surrounded by asphalt on all sides.
Are wind screens required for the shelters? The drawings show wind screens on the existing shelters, but the specifications don’t mention them.
Yes, windscreens comparable to the existing shelter’s windscreens will be required on two sides of each of the seven shelters.
Where should asphalt patching be included in the bid pricing?
Payment for this item shall be included in the bid price for Demolition
As per Specification 02223 3.2B, Damage of existing facilities shall be repaired or replaced at the Contractor’s expense.
What are the ADA Standards for this project?
As per Specification 02300 3.8B, all pads and changes in elevation must comply with ADA standards for accessible routes. This will include transitions in asphalt paved areas.
Who is responsible for utility locations?
The contractor will be responsible for the locating of existing utilities. Attached is a drawing from the last utility installation done in this area. Contractor shall not use this drawing as their sole source of locating utilities. The drawing is for information only and may not show all utilities installed in the area.
What materials will the contractor find under the existing concrete pads?
Attached are photos from the installation of the previous Egin Shelters. These photos show sand as the base material below the pad. This may not be the case for all locations. For the three sites to the West, the foundations may be in structural fill rather than sand.
