1. Introduction
The 105th Communications Flight requires a quote for a ramp system and storage containers to air load our JISCC onto a C5 and C17 Airframe.
2. Scope
The Scope of this project is for the procurement of a lightweight, durable and deployable ramp system to air load the13,500 pound, 33 Foot trailer we require for our deployable communications package in support of our DOMOPS mission.
3. Requirements
The Ramp system must be lightweight, durable and deployable able to be assembled by a team without the use of tools. The ramps will be modular and able to store away in a container small enough to fit in the bed of a full size pickup truck with an 8 foot bed, and comply with 463 Cargo Pallet Specifications. Ramps should come with all hardware required to assemble the system. The system must be able to support the weight of the trailer which is 13,500 pounds. The materials used for the ramp must be able to withstand harsh weather conditions. For specific length, approach shoring, pedestal shoring see attach ATTLA Certification.
3.1 Ramp Construction
The Ramps must be constructed out of aluminum and support a max axle weight of 20,000 pounds. The width of each ramp section will be no less than 24 Inches wide and follow the requirements outlined in the ATTLA (Air Transportability Test Loading Activity) certification for the trailer (See attached documentation). All surfaces that come in contact with the aircraft will have industrial rubber adhered to the surface to prevent metal to metal contact.
The system should be light and possible for two people to lift any given piece.
3.2 Storage Container Construction
The containers used to store the ramp system should be constructed of a durable lightweight aluminum cable of withstanding harsh weather conditions. The containers should be constructed in a way that allows team to quickly remove and store ramps sections inside container. The lid will have handles for members to easily remove it. The container should be lockable and have forklift tubes both on top and bottom to allow for a forklift to easily move the container and remove lid.
3.3 Documentation
ATTLA Certification and diagrams of required ramp systems have been attached.
3.3.1 Certifications
We require a certification that states all welds are within American Welding Society (AWS) Specifications. Along with the AWS Cert we require individual’s personal welder qualifications certificates for the member welding the ramp system.
3.3.2 Instructions
A set of assembly instructions should be provided with the ramp system that outlines exactly where each section and where hardware should be placed while assembling the system.
A set of instructions on how to properly store the system in the storage container should be provided.
3.3.3 Warranty
A standard manufacturer warranty should be provided and proper documentation outlining what the warranty covers should be provided.
3.3.4 Specifications Sheet
The Spec sheet should provide all necessary specifications that apply to the ramp system.
Some required information includes max axle weight, type of metal used, total length, width, diagram of ramp system, and a list of all components included in system, etc.
4. Deliverables
The expected deliverable for the required Ramp System and Storage Container are as follows:
Ramp system with included hardware Storage containers with included hardware AWS Certification Welder individual personal welder certification Assembly instructions Storage instructions Warranty Specifications sheets
