About this file
This justification document outlines a planned sole source contract award for track assembly parts. The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime plans to award an firm-fixed-price contract for 11 track assembly items, with an estimated total value of up to $16,000. The items are described as critical application items for aircraft carrier systems, requiring special manufacturing controls. Only one company, The Entwistle Company with CAGE code 20722, is approved by the Navy to manufacture the items due to experience and quality requirements. The justification cites authority for a sole source award due to the items only being available from one source. Market research found no other interested suppliers beyond Entwistle. The planned award date is August 12, 2022.
