Project Chadron Work Center Window and Door Upgrade.
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
To include but not limited to: Removal of existing windows and doors, as well as interior and exterior trims and casings.
Inspection and mitigation of structural issues, rot or other problems identified during removal. Installation of new windows and doors identified in the specifications and weather proofing with new exterior trims on bunkhouse and two shop buildings.
2.0 Background
Buildings at site were constructed in the 1970s and have original windows and doors.

3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
1. Work for this project includes the following:
a. Base Item – Bunkhouse Window Replacement
1) Removal of existing windows identified in the drawings.
2) Inspection and mitigation of structural issues, rot or other problems exposed during removal of existing windows.
3) Installation of new Jeld-Wen V-2500 horizontal sliding or V-4500 awning style or equivalent vinyl windows to manufacturer's specifications, Section 085313 Vinyl Windows, and industry standards. For rough sizing and placement see attached drawings.
a) Contractor is responsible for verifying all new window sizes.
b) Color of windows to be approved by the Government.
4) Installation of exterior PVC or vinyl weatherproof trim with industry standard caulking to make weathertight.
a) Color of trim and caulking to be approved by the Government.
b. Option Item #1 – East Shop Window Replacement
1) Removal of existing windows identified in the drawings.
2) Inspection and mitigation of structural issues, rot or other problems exposed during removal of existing windows.
3) Installation of new Jeld-Wen V-2500 horizontal sliding or equivalent vinyl windows to manufacturer's specifications, Section 085313 Vinyl Windows, and industry standards. For rough sizing and placement see attached drawings.
a) Contractor is responsible for verifying all new window sizes.
b) Color of windows to be approved by the Government.

a) Contractor is responsible for verifying all new door sizes.
4) Installation of industry standard caulking to make weathertight.
a) Color of caulking to be approved by the Government.
e. Option Item #4 – West Shop Door Replacement
1) Removal of existing doors identified in the drawings.
2) Inspection and mitigation of structural issues, rot or other problems exposed during removal of existing doors.
3) Installation of new CECO Hollow Steel Security Door with Narrow Light Glass and Frame or equivalent to manufacturer’s specifications, Section 081113 Hollow Metal Doors and Frames, and industry standards. For rough sizing and placement see attached drawings.
a) Contractor is responsible for verifying all new door sizes.
4) Installation of industry standard caulking to make weathertight.
a) Color of caulking to be approved by the Government.
4.0 Government Furnished
The work center is open from 0800 to 1630 Monday through Friday, and is otherwise locked, limited space may be available for storage of materials or equipment.
5.0 Deliverables / Schedule
Period of performance is 30 days, and work shall be started and completed in a manner as to not leave openings unweather proofed overnight.
