3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 Remove and dispose of each system fluid from the equipment listed in

1.3 and located in 1.2, in accordance with each federal, state and local environmental requirement.

3.2 Disconnect mechanically and remove equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2 in accordance with Paragraph 6-5 of 2.2, using 2.3 for guidance.

3.3 Accomplish a Class "B" overhaul of the equipment listed in 1.3.1, in accordance with Section 042c of 2.4.

3.4 Disassemble the equipment listed in 1.3.1 in accordance with Paragraph 6-6 and Figure FO-3 of 2.2.

3.4.1 Restore each mating surface exposed by pump removal. Repair by

removing each high spot, burr, abrasion, and foreign matter, where removal can be accomplished by hand tool.

3.4.2 Clean each exposed part free of foreign matter, leaving no residue or injurious effects.

3.4.3 Remove each burr and high spot from each exposed sliding surface, screw thread, key and keyway.

(I) "VISUAL INSPECTION"

3.4.4 Inspect each part for wear and defects, using 2.2 for

guidance.

3.4.4.1 Include each size, clearance, fit, and finish for each wearing part, bearing surface, thrust and journal bearing, seal and packing area, and physical condition of each part not specified for renewal.

3.4.4.2 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.4.4 to the

SUPERVISOR.

3.5 Assemble the equipment listed in 1.3.1 and located in 1.2, using parts provided in 5.1, in accordance with Paragraph 6-17 and Figure FO-3 (Sheet 2) of 2.2.

3.5.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-15 of 2.1 for each rotating assembly.

3.5.2 Install each new gasket, O-ring, shim, plug, pin, stud, bolt, washer and nut conforming to Table 7-1 of 2.2.

3.5.3 Measure and record each final size and clearance in accordance with 2.2.

3.5.3.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable

media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.5.3 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.5.4 Manually rotate each shaft prior to installation of pump shaft packing. Rubbing or binding of the rotating assembly not allowed.

(V)(G) "SHOP TEST"

3.5.5 Accomplish a hydrostatic shop test of the equipment listed in 1.3.1.

3.5.5.1 Ensure hydrostatic test pressure is 200 PSIG, using

clean 2190 TEP Lube Oil in accordance with Table 1-1 of 2.2.

(V)(G) "VISUAL INSPECTION"

3.5.6 Accomplish a visual inspection of each disturbed joint for leaks on the equipment listed in 1.3. Allowable external leakage:

None.

3.6 Assemble, install, align, adjust, and connect the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, in accordance with Paragraph 6-17 of 2.2.

3.6.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 3, Line 9, Columns A, B and E, for the pump and motor foundation.

3.6.2 Each new material must conform to 2.5, including Category and Group F-1.

(V)(G) "STRAIN FREE"

3.6.3 Align the piping to each flange. Piping must be supported independently and must not impose a strain. Accomplishment of alignment by adjustment of the first adjacent hanger is to be considered within the scope of the work.

3.6.4 Accomplish the requirements of 009-58 of 2.1 for pump and motor alignment.

3.6.4.1 Accomplish an axial thrust measurement in accordance

with Paragraph 4-12A of 2.2.

(V)(G) "OPERATIONAL TEST"

3.7 Accomplish an operational test of the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2 under normal operating pressures and temperatures in accordance with 2.6, using 2.2 for guidance. Allowable external leakage:

None.

3.7.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable media, of completed test data sheets of 2.6 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.8 Accomplish the requirements of 009-104 of 2.1.

3.9 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1 for each new and disturbed surface.

3. REQUIREMENTS:

(I) "VISUAL INSPECTION"

3.1 Accomplish a visual inspection of the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2 in using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance.

3.1.1 Inspect the Tank Level Indicator (TLI) penetration cable assembly, TLI transmitter and nitrile bushing for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, each crack, and each area of damage or distortion.

3.1.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.1 and 3.1.1 to the SUPERVISOR. Report must include corrective action required and material requirements to accomplish this Work Item.

(I) "OPERATIONAL TEST"

3.2 Accomplish an operational test of the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, in accordance with 2.4.

3.2.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.2 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.3 Remove existing and install new each part provided in 5.1, for the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, using 2.2 for guidance.

3.3.1 Template size, configuration, and location from each shipboard condition.

3.3.2 Ensure each new electrical installation is in accordance with Paragraph 8-8.9 of 2.2.

3.3.3 Installation of the stuffing tube penetration assembly must be in accordance with Paragraph 8-8.5 of 2.2.

3.3.3.1 Ensure each new cable clamp located in 1.2 conform to MIL-DTL-1222, Type One, Grade 5, CRES Type 316.

3.3.4 Bond and ground equipment in accordance with MIL-STD-1310H .

3.3.5 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Column A, Lines One through 7.

3.3.6 Accomplish the requirements of 009-25 of 2.1, for an air hose, water hose, or vacuum box test of each new and disturbed tank penetration. Allowable leakage: None.

(V)(G) "ALIGN AND CALIBRATE"

3.4 Align and calibrate the TLI installed in 3.3, in accordance with Chapter 6-3 of 2.2.

3.4.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-13 of 2.1 for each receiver meter, each remote meter and each edge view meter associated with each TLI receiver listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance.

3.4.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable

3.2 Remove existing and retain each nozzle and mechanically clean each CMWD piping and each nozzle of foreign debris, commencing at the most distant nozzle from each valve for the equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2, using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance.

3.2.1 Install a threaded pipe plug in place of each removed nozzle to ensure no air leaks while conducting an air hose flush of each upstream nozzle.

3.3 Accomplish an air hose flush at 90 PSIG to remove any remaining residue upon completion of mechanical cleaning operation, using 2.2 and

2.3 for guidance.

3.4 Remove each threaded pipe plug installed in 3.2.1 and install each nozzle removed in 3.2 upon completion of flushing operation.

(V)(G) "UNOBSTRUCTED FLOW TEST"

3.5 Accomplish a unobstructed flow test of each each CMWD piping and each nozzle using low pressure air at 90 PSIG for a minimum of 30 minutes to prove unobstructed flow. Allowable obstruction: None.

3.5.1 Piping must be blown out from the point where each valve was removed in 3.1.2, until a positive flow is observed from each nozzle.

3.6 Install each valve removed in 3.1.2, using new each gasket conforming to 2.4, including Category and Group M-1.

3.6.1 Restore each piping flange mating surface exposed by

disassembly of piping system. Repair by removing each high spot, burr, abrasion, and foreign matter, where removal can be accomplished by a hand tool. Maintain phonographic finish on each flange that has it.

(V)(G) "STRAIN FREE"

3.6.2 Align the piping to each valve. Piping must be supported independently and must not impose a strain on the equipment.

Accomplishment of alignment by adjustment of the first adjacent hanger is to be considered within the scope of the work.

3.3.4.1 Restore each mating surface exposed by removal. Repair by removing each high spot, burr, abrasion, and foreign matter, where removal can be accomplished by hand tool.

3.3.4.2 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable

media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.3.4 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.3.5 Remove temporary jacking bars, installed in 3.3.1. Clean and grind smooth weld metal, leaving no injurious effects.

3.3.6 Chase and tap each exposed threaded area of each cap plate hole.

3.3.6.1 Accomplish weld repair for 20 each deteriorated bolt

holes and redrill and tap.

3.3.6.2 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Column A, Lines One through 7.

(I) "VISUAL INSPECTION"

3.3.7 Accomplish a visual inspection of each surface area listed in

1.3 for structural integrity, deterioration, pitting, each crack, and each area of damage or distortion in the location in 1.2, using 2.3 through 2.6 as guidance.

3.3.7.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferrable

media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.3.7 to the SUPERVISOR.

3.3.8 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 2, Line 4, Columns A, B, C, E and G for each equipment listed in 1.3 and located in 1.2.

3.3.9 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1, including Table 2, Line 7, for the equipment listed in 1.3.2.

3.4 Assemble and install the equipment listed in 1.3.1 and located in 1.2, using parts provided in 5.1 and Paragraph 1-8.5 of 2.3 and 2.4 through 2.6 for guidance, as designated by the SUPERVISOR.

3.4.1 Accomplish the requirements of 009-12 of 2.1, including Table 2, Columns A and D, Lines One through 7.

3.4.1.1 Accomplish nondestructive testing in accordance with

3.4.2 Lubricate each upper and lower guide track groove with grease conforming to MIL-PRF-23827.

(V)(G) "OPERATIONAL TEST"

3.5 Accomplish an operational test of each retractable bitt listed in

1.3 and located in 1.2. Starting in the retracted position, erect and lock each barrel into upright position and retract into the recessed position a total of 4 times, using Paragraph 1-6 of 2.3 for guidance.

(V)(G) "UNOBSTRUCTED FLOW TEST"

3.6 Accomplish a post-repair unobstructed flow test for each retractable bitt deck socket drain located in 1.2, using 2.2 and Paragraph 1-7 of 2.3 for guidance. No obstruction allowed.

3.7 Accomplish the requirements of 009-32 of 2.1 for each new and disturbed surface.

3. REQUIREMENTS:

3.1 Remove existing and install new, the equipment listed in 1.3, located in 1.2 and each associated fitting using 2.2 and 2.3 for guidance, as designated by the SUPERVISOR.

3.1.1 Accomplish each ultrasonic test inspection of each pipe to verify pipe wall thickness, accomplish 20 each shot in each location listed in 1.2 in accordance with Chapter 6 of 2.5, as designated by the SUPERVISOR. The accept or reject criteria must be in accordance with MIL-STD-2035A.

3.1.1.1 Submit one legible copy, in approved transferable media, of a report listing results of the requirements of 3.1.1 to the

3.1.4 Ensure new material conforms to 2.4, including Category and Group R-4.

3.1.5 Align the piping to each flange. Piping must be supported independently and must not impose a strain. Accomplishment of alignment by adjustment of the first adjacent hanger is to be considered within the scope of the work.
