DESCRIPTION

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

Project Title: Home Peritoneal Dialysis Machines and Consumables

Announcement No.: 36C24622Q0195

The Government hereby submits a notice of intent to award an interim sole source Firm-Fixed- Price, open market purchase order for the lease of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) machines, medication IV bags and medical supplies consumables. PD is a treatment for kidney failure that uses the lining of your abdomen, or belly, to filter one’s blood inside one’s body. The home PD machines will allow our Veteran patients to be able to utilize home therapy medical treatment.

The total estimated value is $350,000.

Market research has been conducted and it has been determined that this requirement will require to be sole sourced to Baxter Healthcare Corporation due to the need of continuation of services for patient healthcare. An interim award will be sought to put in place a contract through the remaining fiscal year 2022.

Responses to this notice must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not be cost or time prohibitive, and would not hinder the mission objective of the Durham VAMC.

The determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.

This is not a request for quote or proposals.

Questions or comments to this Notice of Intent should be directed to Contracting Specialist, Isaac Hernandez at Isaac.Hernandez@va.gov (no phone calls/voice mail messages regarding questions will be accepted and will not receive a response).
