Labor Hour Category Descriptions

1. Project Manager:

Definition and Responsibilities: A Project manager is responsible for coordinating all the activities of a single office relocation project/task order. Provides overall Supervision of the performance of a single project/task order and maintains Quality Control and continuous effective communications with client agency Project Manager.

Training, Experience, Education, Certifications/Security Clearances: A Project Manager will have completed some formalized Project Management Training Program or have 8 years work experience in this filed. An AA degree is preferred but a High School Graduate is the minimum acceptable level of educations. Must be IFMA certified. No security clearance is required.

2. Supervisor/Foreman:

Definition and Responsibilities: A Supervisor is a hands-on frontline leader and Manager responsible for the actual performance of the office relocation project. The Drivers, Movers, Packers and in some cases Warehouse Staff all report directly to the Supervisor.

Training, Experience, Education, Certifications/Security Clearances: A Supervisor will have completed the appropriate training school programs and have a minimum of 7 years in this field and 4 years of supervisory experience. A High School Graduate is the minimum education requirement. No security clearance is required.

Material Handling Labor:

Definition and Responsibilities: An Office Mover is the frontline employee who handles and carries the FFE to be relocated to the transport vehicles and loads the Vehicle properly while under supervision. At the new site the Office Mover will unload and position the FFE as directed.

Training, Experience, Education, Certifications/Security Clearances: An Office Mover performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials. Assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. May lead and direct the work of others. Works under general supervision.

Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Relevant training in essential skills and on the job training with 2 years of relevant experience. A High School Graduate is the minimum education requirement.

3. Fork Lift Operator:

Definition and Responsibilities: The fork lift operator must load and unload trucks and supply production areas with product or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area. Responsibly for inspecting the lifts before usage. The operator may be have to check inventory, do product counts or weigh and tag the product; use a hand held bar code scanner, inspect and maintain equipment; wrap loads with a shrink wrapper and load goods on and off a truck. At times also may have to do data entry and bill of ladings for goods going out.

The forklift operator must have a proper license to be able to operate the vehicle; know the technical functions of the different parts or types of forklift like wheel loader, basket lift, pallet jackets, etc. Individual must be physically fit. A high school degree or GED is required. At least 2 years experience is required.

4. Shipping Packer:

Definition and Responsibilities: An Office Packer is responsible for preparing all the FFE for handling and relocation by properly preparing, arranging and protecti8ng the FFE through the proper use of the provided packaging/shipping materials. May be required to assist in loading / unloading of the FFE as well.

Training, Experience, Education, Certifications/Security Clearances: An Office Packer will have completed the appropriate training schools and have a minimum of 2 years work experience in this field and be a High School Graduate. An additional 2 years of work experience may be substituted for the Education requirement. No security clearance is required.

5. Warehouse Specialist

Definition and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the company storage plan. Work involves: verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

6. Truck Driver Light:

Definition and Responsibilities: Organizational skills are important for a light truck driver. He is expected to pick up cargo time and deliver it on schedule to customers. The driver's eye for detail must be acute to verify the addresses and recipient names are correct. He is required to maintain his vehicle, so he must have the skills to check and replenish fluid levels, check tire pressure and perform simple maintenance procedures like changing light bulbs and fuses. Good communication skills are required to interact with clients who use delivery services and customers who receive packages and parcels. Proficiency in basic math is required to calculate and implement delivery schedules. The job focus for a light truck driver is to efficiently schedule daily pick-ups and deliveries. This requires her to strategically map out a route before her work day begins to make the best use of her time and fuel and satisfy the greatest number of customers. She is also expected to compare shipping documents with her freight to confirm weights and addressees and ensure required signatures are obtained. Collecting payments at points of delivery is often required. If any discrepancies are discovered in the delivery documents or packages, it is the light truck driver's responsibility to resolve them.

There are no educational requirements for this position but applicants are required to have basic math skills. A light truck driver should be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. A good driving record is an essential qualification for this position.

7. Truck Driver Medium:

Makes deliveries, in a timely manner. Safely moves and positions inventory, supplies and equipment. Demonstrates orientation toward excellent customer services by conducting daily activities, communications, and interactions in a cooperative, positive, and professional manner. Maintains required paperwork, according to company policy, federal, state and provincial regulations. Qualifications – Class B Commercial Drivers License required. High School diploma or equivalent required. One year experience in operating small and medium weight vehicles, proper loading / unloading techniques and effective safety practices required.

8. Truck Driver Tractor Trailer:

Is qualified in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations to operate assigned vehicles in local, intrastate and interstate moves. Oversees the vehicle loading process and builds a load using own good judgment in order to safely transport shipment and avoid injuries and accidents. Complete accurate documentation. Maintains clean driving record. Inspects truck and keeps it in a safe and operable condition. Possesses ability to interact effectively with the public/customers and maintain a positive can-do, service oriented attitude. Possesses knowledge of packing and loading techniques.
