Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS): The SCLS is applicable to this contract and includes SCLS applicable labor categories. The prices for the indicated SCLS labor categories are based on the U.S. Department of Labor Wage
Determination Number(s) identified in the matrix. The prices offered are based on the preponderance of where work is performed and should work be performed in an area with lower SCLS rates, resulting in lower wages being paid, the task order prices will be discounted accordingly.
Labor Category Descriptions
Labor Category Description
Planner An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a Planner would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. A Planner interacts with our clients, along with the sales staff and company management, from the beginning planning stages of a relocation. A Planner works with the client to come up with a furniture and equipment layout. The Planner also helps the client with the utilization of the existing furniture and informs them of what additional product would be needed to implement the decided upon layout. A Planner at T&N Van Service would typically have a minimum of fifteen years of industry experience and demonstrate attention to detail, positive customer service skills and experience in office furniture systems.
Project Manager An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a project manager would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. A project manager interacts with our clients, along with the sales staff and company management, from the beginning of each relocation. A Project Manager is involved in the development and implementation of the move plan. The Project Manager informs Supervisors and install lead man of the objectives of each move shift. A Project Manager at T&N Van Service would typically have a minimum of fifteen years of industry experience and demonstrate attention to detail, positive customer service skills and creativity in project design.
Supervisor An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a supervisor would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. The Supervisor is responsible for performing a relocation or similar project base on the established move plan, or segment thereof. The supervisor's) controls all company resources; including personnel, vehicles and equipment, communicates with client representatives and company Project Managers, and is responsible for completing the move plan of his work unit. T&N Van Service Supervisors typically have at least ten years of industry experience.
Loader An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a loader is a crew member who handles the loading and unloading of the client’s property at the place of origin and destination. Loaders
P a g e | 6 will make sure the client’s property is properly secured in the trucks as to prevent damage.
Loaders at T&N receive two days of introductory training after hire to learn the proper methods of utilizing moving equipment, handling various pieces of furniture, machines and fixtures, and basic company procedures.
Man/ general labor
An individual assigned by T&N Van Service as a man/general laborer is a crew member whose main responsibility is that the client’s property is moved to the correct new location in perfect condition. This includes making sure that the client’s property is labeled appropriately and is moved to the correct location. He will also make sure both locations are broom swept. The Man/general laborers at T&N receive two days of introductory training after hire to learn the proper methods of utilizing moving equipment, handling various pieces of furniture, machines and fixtures, and basic company procedures.
Driver/forklift operator
An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a driver must meet company requirements beyond and in addition to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and state law. T&N Van Service requires state and federally qualified drivers to undergo training in proper loading and cargo protection techniques. Company drivers are responsible for their assigned vehicles and all client property in our care and custody. Company drivers are trained to drive in a safe, professional and courteous manner. They will also receive special training to qualify them as a forklift operator to move items that require a forklift.
Install lead man
An individual assigned by T&N Van Service as an install lead man would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. An Install lead man is responsible for directing the activity of a crew up to a dozen workers. An install lead man may work in conjunction with a Project Manager or supervisor. An install lead man normally has a minimum of five years experience and has demonstrated leadership and reliability.
Rigger
A T&N Van Service rigger would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. A Rigger is utilized to perform relocations of property of our clients that due to the specific nature of the property or conditions of the origin or destination locations require specialized skills and/or equipment. The specific nature of property requiring rigging include but are not limited to; weight (for example safes, etc.), dimensions (items that are too wide or tall to fit through standard doorways), and sensitivity (for example finely calibrated laboratory equipment, etc.). The features of locations requiring rigging include certain property being transferred through windows, stairwells, to mezzanine levels, roof tops, elevator shafts, etc.
A Rigger will typically have more than five years experience and will have the skill sets of man/general laborer, loader and driver/forklift operator. A Rigger will utilize specialized equipment such as hoists, hydraulic lifts, cranes, power crawlers and other gear.
Installer
An Individual employed my T&N Van Service as an installer would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. An installer works directly with the man/general laborer to ensure all the furniture and equipment are relocated to the correct location and reassembled correctly. He will also assist the carpenter as needed. The installers at T&N receive two days of introductory training after hire to learn the proper methods of utilizing moving equipment, handling various pieces of furniture, machines and fixtures, and basic company procedures.
Carpenter
An individual assigned by T&N Van Service as a carpenter would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. A carpenter would be required for any move project that would have the need for reconfiguring that would include measuring and cutting of the client’s property. A carpenter would work in conjunction with a Project Manager, supervisor and install lead man. A carpenter normally has a minimum of five years experience in carpentry.

Warehouse supervisor
An individual employed by T&N Van Service as a warehouse supervisor would have the following responsibilities and qualifications. A warehouse manager is responsible for all operations of the warehouse. The warehouse manager is trained using specific computer software to keep track of all items entering and exiting T&N's warehouse. A Warehouse Manager may work in conjunction with a Project Manager or supervisor. A Warehouse Manager normally has a minimum of five years’ experience and has demonstrated leadership, reliability and organization.
Van & Driver
At T&N Van Service the term van/truck refers to one straight truck. A Straight truck in our fleet is a non-articulating vehicle with an enclosed cargo box body with specialized freight protection systems including lift-gates, e-track, air-ride suspensions and other features. The gross vehicle weight of out straight trucks is 33,000# each. For driver please refer to Driver/forklift operator above.
Passenger Van At T&N Van Service, the term passenger van refers to a van used to transport workers to the move location.
*- Overtime charges are based on hourly rates times 1.5X or 2X (1.5X for any hours after 5PM, 2X for all day
Sunday or Holidays). Minimum charges apply to all Labor Categories; Weekday = 4 hour Minimum, Saturday, or
Sunday = 6hr Minimum, Holidays = 8hr Minimum.
