Positions/ Labor Category Descriptions

Job Title: Supervisor Summary: Responsible for the overall supervision of day-to-day operations and on site team performance to insure efficient performance of office moves and special projects. Responsible for timely completion of the work with a high level of workmanship and a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties:

Talks with internal and external customers, via phone, e-mail and fax;

Receives orders via computer from Paxton coordinators by established procedures;

Reviews the data input of coordinators for accuracy and coordination of labor;

Upon review and approval of Operations Manager, distributes and supervises the workload of the office relocation personnel including drivers, packers, helpers and warehouse personnel;

Supervises and assists with the movement of client property from origin;

Supervises the preparation items for transportation or storage;

Supervises the loading, storage, and unloading of client property;

Supervises and assists with the delivery of client property at destination;

Maintains contact with customer, resolves quality issues

Submits work related problems, as they arise, whether regarding customer complaints of dissatisfaction or employee’s interactions with regard to job performance, to the proper managerial supervisor/s;

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

Two year degree from a community college or trade-school, or three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to multitask.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Job Title: Driver Summary: Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor-trailer and or straight truck to transport and deliver office furniture, equipment, and supplies.

Essential Duties:

Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition;

Drives truck to job site and consults with shipper on items to be loaded;

Insure all passengers wear seat belts where equipped;

Gives directions to helpers in moving items to truck;

Assists workers in loading and unloading truck;

Wraps furniture with blankets to prevent damage;

Loads truck, distributing weight evenly, forming compact load, and utilizing space;

Completes a detailed inventory sheet when loading truck, if required;

Drives truck to destination and unloads cargo;

Assures proper materials and equipment are loaded in truck before starting out on a move and refuels the vehicle at the end of the shift;

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

A high school diploma or GED; or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a Class A or Class B CDL, and current Medical Certificate.

Job Title: Helper/Packer Summary: Carries loads and unloads office furniture, equipment, and supplies from the previous location to its new designated destination.

Essential Duties:

Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly;

Pads, stacks, and secures items in position on truck to prevent damage during shipment;

Identify to the Crew Leader any pre-existing or existing damage prior to loading customers’ property;

Delivers and stacks merchandise on customer's premises;

Performs the writing of inventory when necessary;

Assist driver pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles;

Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Title: Installer Supervisor Summary: Responsible for the overall supervision of day-to-day operations and team performance to insure efficient installation and assembly of furniture and equipment within clients' facilities, including systems furniture, case goods, accessories, wall-hung units, etc. Responsible for timely completion of the work with a high level of workmanship and a high degree of customer satisfaction.

Supervises and assists preparation of items for transportation or storage;

Supervises loading and unloading of client property;

Supervises and assists installation or re-installation of office cubicles, desks, office equipment, computers, etc.;

Maintains contact with customer, resolves quality issues

Education and/or Experience:

A high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in the field are required. This job requires formal training and significant experience in the planning, configuration, and installation of modular furniture systems, and library shelving. This individual will also have knowledge and experience in general spatial planning.

Must have a valid driver’s license. May have specialized training in branded office systems furniture installation and/or office layout principles.
