Mechanical Journeyman
Hired through the Pipefitter Union
Local 469. Knowledge of
Commercial HVAC and Building
Automation Systems. Able to perform installation and service systems. The primary roll of our
Journeyman is to install, repair and service mechanical, electrical and pneumatic control systems in commercial and industrial facilities. These journeymen are capable of working independently or with a team depending on the project. They are equipped with service trucks, spare parts and all required tools for their job. They are responsible for providing quotes to customers, managing the project and filing all required paperwork to our administration department.
The experience level of our mechanical journeyman range from a minimum of 5 years to over 30 years. To become a journeyman with
ACC your must complete 5 years as an apprentice, take a test and pass it to become a journeyman. At that point they are assigned to construction projects. As they become skilled in construction they are moved to the service and retrofit areas of our business. in their new position they perform independently with our customers.
The minimum education of our Mechanical
Journeyman is a High
School Diploma or a
GED, take training classes for five years as an apprentice and pass the Journeyman test.
They also take specialty classes to become proficient in other aspects of our business.
Pipefitter's Apprenticeship
Program is mandatory for all
Journeyman. In addition our
Journeyman take specialty classes in Air and Water
Balance, Temperature control theory, Mechanical
Systems design and other specialty classes as required.
Refrigeration
Journeyman
Hired through the Pipefitter Union
Local 469. Knowledge of
