Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technician
Perform routine maintenance and repair work to keep HVAC systems operating efficiently.
Technicians may adjust burners, blowers and check for leaks. If the system is not operating properly, they diagnose the problem. Heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanics and installers are adept at using a variety of tools, including hammers, wrenches, metal snips, electric drills, pipe cutters and benders, measurement gauges, and acetylene torches. Technicians also work with refrigerant lines and air ducts.
Education/Experience: GED or High School Diploma and at least 5 years experience.

Pipefitter/Plumbing Technician
Attach pipes to walls, structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment. Attach measure and mark pipes for cutting, threading and welding;
use specific tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, benders, and welders. Attaches plan piping system layouts, installations or repairs according to specifications. They modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, fittings, and related machines and equipment, following specifications using hand and power tools. Attaches remove and replace worn components;
inspect work sites for obstructions and ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness; also inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation or other methods.

Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Provide assistance to craft workers, such as Air
Conditioning Technician and Pipefitter/Plumbing Technician. Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
