(SME) for language translation & localization, interpretation, training, and comprehensive linguistic services. During our 20+ years in business, we continue expanding our services while offering exceptional solutions in more than 120 languages and dialects.
Our clients are State and Federal agencies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions and other language service firms. With an internal database of over 7,000 language professionals, Languages Unlimited provides a full range of accurate translation services in more than 90 global languages. These professionals are Subject Matter Experts with backgrounds in multiple disciplines including medical, legal, and scientific; and a proven track record of consistently accurate translations, Our Subject Matter Experts leverage state-of-the-art translation and desktop publishing software as part of their engagements.
Following a highly effective proofreading process, Languages Unlimited can certify and notarize all output translations to meet exact legal requirements. Court certified and notarized translations are also available.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Translations Duties Subject Matter Experts have expertise in any number of technical disciplines. SMEs perform a variety of language services including translation, transcription, and analysis from a source language to a target language.
SMEs provide excellent customer service; correct usage of updated translation and desktop publishing software, and general computer science knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word, Adobe suite).

All scores must be recorded and presented in alignment with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) 4 point scale, or above. Examinations must include Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing in both the source language and target language scored as:
1. Absence of errors in grammar/syntax, pronunciation, and accuracy Score – 60%
2. Reproducible session by any other interpreter and SME Score – 25%
3. Consistency in use of specific terminology and language proficiency is free of bias Score – 15%
NOTE: Full professional proficiency is the fourth level of five in the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale of language proficiency, formerly called the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) scale. This level is sometimes referred to as S-4 or level 4. A person at this level is described as follows:
• able to use the language fluently and accurately on all levels normally pertinent to professional needs
• can understand and participate in any conversations within the range of own personal and professional experience with a high degree of fluency and precision of vocabulary
• would rarely be taken for a native speaker, but can respond appropriately even in unfamiliar situations

With an internal database featuring over 3,000 interpreters with proficiency in over 120 languages/dialect, and court interpreter certifications. Languages Unlimited is able to quickly find and deploy the appropriate interpreter for any client requirement anywhere in the world.
Languages Unlimited has devised a systematic, efficient and cost-effective process that allows our interpreters to facilitate remote audio and/or video interpretation sessions using some of the latest conferencing software. Languages Unlimited is also able to meet on-demand interpreting requests through our 24/7 toll-free number. Clients are provided with unique access codes to access the this on-demand service and a enjoy a connection time of less than 1 minute.

Languages Unlimited supports the mission needs of federal agencies that require high-skilled and cleared/clearable linguists to perform a range of translation and interpretation services on an ad hoc basis. Our linguists provide a wide array of multi-lingual and sign language support including, but not limited to: data analysis, interview support, recruitment. CLASS Expert (Cleared) Duties CLASS Experts provide daily or ad hoc support for government agencies requiring highly-skilled and cleared/clearable linguists to perform a range of translation and interpretation services including, but not limited to: Data analysis, Interview support, Recruitment

4. Visual & Hearing Impaired Services
Languages Unlimited provides specialized Sign Language interpreting services in support of academic, military, medical, and legal organizations that require professional and/or certified interpreters meeting the standards of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). Languages
Unlimited maintains a professional commitment to providing sign language expertise that fits the unique needs of every interpreting session. Each of our Sign Language Interpreters maintains a professional certification from a recognized institution such as the Registry of
Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and/or the NAD; and has professional experience of 3 years or more working as an interpreter for the deaf or in a related field in which services for the visual and hearing impaired where provided.
Sign Language Interpreter
Duties Subject Matter Experts have expertise in any number of technical disciplines. SMEs perform specialized Sign Language interpreting services in support of academic, military, medical, and legal organizations that require professional and/or certified interpreters

Languages Unlimited provides the public sector with an accurate transcription and language support for any medical, legal, military, or scientific requirement. Specializing in Court Certified

Transcription and/or Machine Assisted Transcription.
Transcriptionist Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Duties Certified stenographers and media transcriptionists use methods such as human transcription and/or Machine-Assisted Transcription to provide accurate transcription support across a range of disciplines including medical, legal, military, and science.

6. Desktop Publishing
We have identified the increasing need for thorough world-class translation services requiring not only a translation effort, but also a document redesign approach with an appealing and cost-effective publishing support. When contracted, we accurately revise, redesign, and edit technical translated documents made to mirror the original version in wording, format, and layout.
Desktop Publisher SME Duties Desktop Publishers revise, redesign, and edit existing content, that has been separately translated and/or proofread, to mirror the source material in wording, format, and layout.

In addition to our intricate proofreading procedure found in our translation process, we provide both public and private sectors with certified professional technical writers that revise, proofread, and edit technical translated texts and other professional documents in compliance to contract requirements.

8. Project Management
Languages Unlimited complements its services portfolio with a flexible and responsive project management system. For each linguistic project, we provide Senior and/or Junior management representatives capable of analyzing and executing contract requirements. Our Project
Managers follow process management directives and quality procedures that ensure timely completion of each project.
Project Manager Duties Allocates resources and monitors progress for contract tasks. Provides technical and management expertise as necessary to resolve issues and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Directs all technical, financial management and administrative activities.
Determines a course of action and sets priorities for project completion. Follows process management directives and quality assurance procedures.

7. Communication Access Real-Time Translation
Communication Access Real-Time Translation (also called live captioning or FedRelay) is an instant translation of verbal language into text using a stenotype machine or notebook computer with real-time software. CART services are provided by a Captioner who transcribes text in real time. Participants can see that text through several devices including white screens, TV’s, mobile phones or computers. Live captioning is primarily used by speakers, presenters, organizations, or institutions to provide access to a wider audience, including individuals who are deaf or hearing impaired. However, this interpretation service can also be used by people with learning disabilities or those who are learning English as a second language.
SIN 611630 Linguistic Training and Education
1. Oral Proficiency Assessment
Languages Unlimited leverages highly skilled linguists to assess language proficiency of candidates specific to two primary skill sets: Listening and Speaking. Our linguists prepare comprehensive reports rating each assessed candidate on Languages Unlimited 4-point scale.
Target Language is “English”. LU’s oral proficiency assessments cover assessments to and from any of the following source languages:
Group 1 Arabic, Spanish
Group 2 Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Urdu
Group 3 Turkish, Kurdish
Group 4 Duri, Farsi, Persian, Pashto

Proficiency Rating Scale
Level Description
Candidate has some knowledge of the language but not enough to be fully functional in society or the workplace where the language is spoken. Candidate cannot maintain a regular conversation in the language.
Candidate has quite a bit of knowledge of the language and can carry a normal conversation (but not as fluently as level 3 & 4). At this level, the Candidate can engage in everyday conversation which may cover daily news and world events, etc however Candidate has not fully mastered the language. Candidate is not yet able to participate in conversations requiring high degrees of technicalities and nuances.
Candidate has demonstrated that s/he can carry almost any type of conversations including those involving some high level of technicality and nuances that is expected of a native speaker.
4 Candidate is at or near native speaking abilities.
2. Language Training
Language Unlimited has leveraged its 20+ years of language services to develop LUClass, a proprietary cloud-based language training platform accessible anywhere in the world. LUClass is largely focused on facilitating remote learning which also includes live online interaction with
LU’s highly-skilled Language Training Mentors.
Course Description
Comprehensive and immersive language training is provided via Languages Unlimited’s cloud-based learning platform – LUClass, to teach any level of proficiency or fluency desired. Rate includes access to the LUClass On-Line Learning Platform for the duration of engagement period
(12-15 weeks) and all live Instructor-Led Virtual courses.
Students will have access to LUClass on-line materials and training features to facilitate on-demand learning throughout the entire engagement period – which will vary based on learning objectives of the customer and the assigned Language Training Mentor. Live on-line course sessions will also be facilitated by the Language Training Mentor intermittently (based on the curriculum design and customer needs) throughout the engagement period.
• Minimum engagement period: 12 weeks (with 24 one-hour live Instructor-led virtual sessions included)
• Maximum engagement period: 15 weeks (with 30 one-hour live Instructor-led virtual sessions included).
Students must actively utilize the learning modules, complete assigned coursework, engage with peers and Instructor, and take quizzes and tests available only on the LUClass platform.
The Language Training rate is not language-dependent. Currently, LUClass covers the following languages:
• Group 1 – Arabic, Spanish
• Group 2 – Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Urdu
• Group 3 – Turkish, Kurdish
• Group 4 – Dari, Farsi, Persian, Pashto
LUClass is ideal for:
• Rapid learning to enable speaking, listening, reading and writing. LUClass helps students learn a new language quicker than other traditional instruction courses.
• Supporting critical missions in which mission-essential personnel within law enforcement, military, and national security organizations require specialized language and cultural instruction;
• Preparing military personnel and their families for mission centered deployment in foreign countries;
• Private individuals with busy schedules
• Our dynamic curriculum can be customized to the specific needs of every individual student or learning group. LUCLass’ key features include:
• Live on-line instruction – All students have set course dates (at least, twice weekly) that feature live on-line interaction with one of LU’s highly-trained language instructors. During these pre-set dates, modules will be introduced by the teacher where attendance of the students is compulsory.
• Highly-skilled Language Instructors - Language Training Mentors are all native speakers of the language they teach, are college graduates, and have degrees in education or language teaching.
All are experienced in teaching adult learners. All LUClass Language Instructors are certified testers, qualified to administer tests and evaluate proficiency. Our Language Training Mentors are required to undergo professional development activities that will enhance their skills and ability to design the curriculum, monitor the progress of the students, improve the dynamics of the mentoring process and achieve the goal of a quick learning process within the course duration.
• Self-Assess Activities - Enables student learn and strengthen pronunciation, speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.
• Conversation Pairing – Using the platform, peer to peer discussion can be initiated with monitoring and control by the teacher.
• Progress Monitoring – The assigned Language Training Mentor reviews coursework submitted by the course participants, grades and provides feedback.
• Grade Quizzes - At the end of every module, quizzes will be answered by the students to verify their progress.
• Final Assessment - The final course material involves a "Final Assessment". Every student is required to pass a set standard score in order to proceed to the next level, if deemed required.
The assessment material is prepared by the Language Training Mentor, reviewed and approved by our Qualified Assessment/Testers body. Our language assessment rating is in compliance with The Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Scale.
