LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Senior Principal
Minimum/General Experience: Fifteen (15) years of experience in area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: The Senior Principal manages or supervises an organization composed primarily of engineers, geologists, technicians and/or scientists and assures all environmental project goals and objectives are achieved. Develops the overall strategy, approach, philosophy, and vision for complex environmental investigation and/or remediation projects. Carries out technical development and setting of technical standards for assigned areas, and monitors firm-wide activities being undertaken. Ensures compliance with industry procedures, codes and regulations. The Senior Principal position requires high degree of professional skill and knowledge in complex engineering/geological programs and projects. In addition:
• Recommends and implements changes in goals or direction and has final authority in all matters concerning the operation of a project
• Reports directly to the President and recommends changes in goals or direction, made by those in senior management positions, to President for final approval.
• Recommends action to President whenever an exception to policy is required.
• Represents the company at hearings, negotiations, and other meetings with outside entities, such as clients, regulators, landowners, and other project stakeholders.
• Oversees and assigns projects to the various Project Managers and other manpower resources.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, or related academic field.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Principal/Officer

Functional Responsibility: Directs and administers the activities of a portion of the firm’s practice, and is responsible to complete environmental projects assigned to the portion of the practice which he or she directs.
Meets clients, determines their needs, and prepares proposals based on estimated man-hours and the firm’s schedule of fees. Carries out technical development and setting of technical standards for assigned areas.
Manages pollution and contaminated land investigations and overall remedial efforts, ensuring comprehensive field work. Takes steps neccessary to assure that client’s work is completed on time and on budget. Has total authority to assign work, and to utilize group assets to assure the timely and profitable completion of projects.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, or related academic field.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Technical Director
Minimum/General Experience: Fifteen (15) years of experience in area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: The Technical Director is responsible for the technical accuracy of certain projects performed by the firm. The Technical Director assures that project staff is appropriately trained and that the firm develops and maintains knowledge of leading edge science and technology. In addition, he or she may serve as a QA/QC function on projects of the firm’s practice and provides technical review of all associated proposals and reports. The Technical Director works with members of the Project Teams to develop solutions to various challenges encountered. Ensures that the latest technical data is accessible to project staff. Assists in providing objective characterization surveys to define extent of contamination at a

LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Senior Project Manager
Minimum/General Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: In addition to the requirements for the position of Project Manager, the Senior Project Manager has the additional obligations of assisting the company Principal and/or President in determining and fulfilling program responsibilities. Responsible for all phases of a major project, delegating the individual tasks to Senior, Project, and Staff-level professionals as necessary. Project Managers maintain clients with frequent communication and by managing and meeting their expectations. Project Managers will frequently represent clients to regulatory agencies, or support the client’s own interactions. Also retains and administers contracts with subconsultants for the development of project designs, recommendations, construction/installation, and/or services. Identifies prospective clients, and in conjunction with senior management, arranges to make a proposal. Oversees total environmental related construction effort (as appropriate) to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Project Manager
Minimum/General Experience: Eight (8) years of Professional experience.
Functional Responsibility: The Project Manager is responsible for providing overall technical direction and for the timely and accurate completion of projects assigned to him or her. The Project Manager oversees the total environmental effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule;
assures that the clients receive the designs, reports and opinions described in the contract between the firm and the client; interfacing with client representatives; and that the cost of the project shall be within established budgets. The Project Manager may be responsible for several concurrent projects. Prepares proposal estimates of time and expense required to complete the project. Participates in selecting the Project Team.
Determines major project design decisions in conjunction with client and Project Officer. Assigns duties to the Project Team, answers their questions, and monitors their progress. Checks the accuracy of completed work.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an Environmental Science, Engineering, Science, or related academic field.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Senior Project Engineer
Minimum/General Experience: Eight (8) years experience in his or her area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: In addition to all the requirements for the position of Project Engineer, the Senior Project Engineer is characterized by the assignment of responsibility for a specific project, functioning in a technical capacity assisting a company Principal in determining and fulfilling program responsibilities. The Senior Project Engineer is distinguished from the lower level professionals by the level of responsibility and difficulty and variety of technical work performed. A Senior Project Engineer is normally responsible for all phases of a major project from an engineering perspective, whereas a Project professional is responsible for one or more individual tasks within a project. Senior Project Engineer assures development of the designs;
reports and opinions described in the contract between the firm and the client, and advise the Project Manager of project costs. Assists in preparation of proposal estimates of time and expense required to complete the project. Participates in major project design decisions in conjunction with the Project Manager. May assign duties to Project Team, answer their questions, and monitor their progress.

LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Project Engineer
Minimum/General Experience: Five (5) years experience in area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: The Project Engineer is responsible for providing the technical expertise required to accomplish the timely and accurate completion of projects assigned to him or her. The Project Engineer assists Senioe Project Engineer with development of the designs; reports and opinions described in the contract between the firm and the client. Participates in major project design decisions in conjunction with the Senior Project Engineer. Provides the technical expertise for projects to which assigned and designs approaches: such as defining the extent of contamination at various waste sites in an accurate manner, and to develop feasible remedial options. May be delegated responsibility to maintain client contact throughout the development of the project. Performs other related work as apparent or as assigned and performs all such work in a safe manner, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures. Provides technical input to the Project Manager for major decisions concerning the cost, design, implementation and buildability of projects assigned.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an engineering or science discipline (for example, civil engineering, chemical engineering, geology, or chemistry). Must be at least FE Certified in State where the corporation is authorized to provide services.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Engineer
Minimum/General Experience: Minimum of one (1) year relevant job experience. In lieu of experience: a master’s degree will be equivalent.
Functional Responsibility: The Engineers are assigned specific tasks on the Project Team and resolve any environmental engineering problems and tasks they are assigned. Works under the Projects engineer and Project Managers. Design portions of a project. Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills.
Uses catalogs to specify items where original design is not required. Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings. Performs research and writes opinions. Uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve project engineering problems. Performs other related work as apparent or as assigned and performs all work in a safe manner, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in Engineering, Geology or related field. Must be at least FE Certified in State where the corporation is authorized to provide services.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist
Minimum/General Experience: Eight (8) years experience in area of expertise.
Functional Responsibility: In addition to all the requirements for the position of Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist, the Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist acts as technical lead on assigned projects and delegates duties to lower level technical team members. Plans and performs environmental investigations and field studies of advanced scope and complexity. Develops new procedures and methods for field work and investigations. Oversees field tests and assessments including sampling, drilling and other techniques. The Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist may act informally as lead supervisor to a small group of technical staff on a case-by-case basis. Responsible for routine office or field projects of difficulty ranging from simple to moderately complex and are expected to direct them to completion. Provide on-site observation or supervision on projects of moderate complexity. Technical work of this type is generally supervised and reviewed by positions in the next higher class, Principals or Directors. Responsible for establishing time-and-hours budgets for projects, and meeting those budgets on the projects he or she personally manages.
Responsible for technical accuracy of projects he or she works on. Assists client as required in selection of contractors and as required to monitor contractor’s performance.

Functional Responsibility: Common assignments of the Hydrogeologists/Scientists include conducting field testing as part of environmental site assessments, analysis of collected data, and report preparation. Designs specific portions of a project and makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills. Uses catalogs to specify items where original design is not required. Instructs drafters how to reduce designs into completed drawings. Performs research and writes opinions. Uses computer to run standard programs in order to solve environmnetal engineering problems. Direct report to a Project Manager, but may turn to the Project Hydrogeologist / Scientist or Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist for aid in solving a problem. Performs geological site characterizations, remedial field investigation, and hydraulic tests. Analyzes geological and hydrogeological data and identifies and delineates contaminants of potential concerns in soil and groundwater.
Collects, identifies and analyzes data to assess sources of pollution, determine their effects, and establish standards. Determines data collection methods to be employed in research projects and surveys.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an engineering or science discipline (for example, civil engineering, chemical engineering, geology, or chemistry).
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Hydrogeologist I/Scientist I
Minimum/General Experience: Entry level - Professional experience is not required.
Functional Responsibility: Performs a variety of engineering and/or technical tasks, field testing and data collection as part of environmental site assessments, analysis of collected data, and preparation of components of reports. Operates a computer and runs reports on calculations. Researches catalogs for commercially available equipment to avoid expense of original design. Specifies equipment based on catalog searches. Researches code requirements in out-of-town project sites. Prepares environmental impact and other administrative reports required for project permits. May prepare the drawings of designs he or she has originated (typically will not draft the designs of others). Performs other related work as apparent or as assigned and performs all such work in a safe manner, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures.
Reports to a Project Manager, and works closely with the Senior Project Hydrogeologist/Scientist who answers day-to- day questions and helps to solve problems.
Minimum Education: B.S. Degree in an engineering or science discipline (for example, civil engineering, chemical engineering, geology, or chemistry).

LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Designer/CAD Operator
Minimum/General Experience: Five (5) year of CAD/Drafting Experience.
Functional Responsibility: Conducts detail technical systems drawings, profiles and maps based on the specification used in environmental remediation efforts. Works directly with the environmental project team to generate three-dimensional models and drawings using CAD software and together with design originators, preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original design requiring a high degree of experience and precision.
Involved in project start up to close out by drawing both original designs and improving or modifying current specifications. Position requires experience within creating/revising: site plans, riser diagrams, interface/interconnect drawings, layouts, mechanical designs, flowcharts, professional renderings, and animations.
Minimum Education: Associates Degree.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Senior Technician
Minimum/General Experience: Five (5) years of experience.
Functional Responsibility: The Senior Technician performs complex and non-routine technical duties from verbal instructions and under supervision. The Senior Technician conducts multifaceted field testing assignments and participates in the evaluation of scientific data. Performs a variety of field assignments needed to complete various types of project work assignments. Provides technical expertise in gathering materials for project site. Also develops and implements programs for monitoring of environmental pollution and radiation; Discussing test results and analysis with customers, personnel and stakeholders; ensures accurate, complete and timely communication of technical information to and from clients and firm staff;
Obtaining cores and samples as well as processing field/office data and samples; Secures permits from the appropriate bureaucratic agency; Assist in the preparation of environmental impact studies; Doing drawing or sketching as required.
Minimum Education: Associates Degree.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Technician
Minimum/General Experience: Four (4) years of experience.
Functional Responsibility: Conducts tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling engineering principles and applied technologies. Collecting samples of gases, soils, water, industrial wastewater, and asbestos products to conduct tests on - pollutant levels and identify sources of pollution. Recording test data and preparing reports, summaries, and charts that interpret test results. Conducts laboratory and field tests according to prescribed standards to determine characteristics or composition of materials and substances using proper equipment.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
LABOR CATEGORY TITLE: Clerical
Minimum/General Experience: Two (2) Year of Experience.
Functional Responsibility: Provide administrative support to the entire project staff and oversees administrative tasks critical to project completion. Provides assistance with proofreading, editing, reporting and document preparation. Reports to Project Manager and assists with project communication and documentation, helps prepare drafts and proposal. Must be familiar with numerous complex and technical State, Federal laws and regulations as well as company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures. Also prepares invoices, manages payroll and accounts and maintain records, contracts, and related support documentation for remedial projects.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma.
