The following SCA narrative is made a part of the contract and must be included in the Contractor’s price catalog on GSA Advantage!:

The Service Contract Act (SCA) is applicable to this contract as it applies to the entire

874: MOBIS Schedule and all services provided. While no specific labor categories have been identified as being subject to SCA due to exemptions for professional employees (FAR 22.1101, 22.1102 and 29 CFR 541.300), this contract still maintains the provisions and protections for SCA eligible labor categories. If and / or when the

Contractor adds SCA labor categories / employees to the contract through the modification process, the Contractor must inform the Contracting Officer and establish a

SCA matrix identifying the GSA labor category titles, the occupational code, SCA labor category titles and the applicable WD number. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the contract.

Training Course Descriptions

The following Vantage courses are available off-the-shelf for immediate delivery.

Are You Ready to be a Supervisor? - This two-day course is intended for individuals who are considering a move into supervisory positions. It is designed to equip participants with a basic understanding of what supervisors do and what is involved in the transition to a supervisory role.

Training includes a focus on leadership in a supervisory context, with emphasis on varying leadership style to fit specific situations. Participants also learn how to develop effective work teams, and how to manage conflict and performance problems.

Career Development – This two-day course is intended for any individual interested in taking charge of their career. It is designed to equip participants with the tools, skills, and techniques to face a complex and rapidly changing work environment resulting from the introduction of new technology, downsizing, increased mobility and the trend toward later retirement. Training includes a focus on exercising control of your career, managing career changes successfully, and achieving growth and personal fulfillment throughout your work life

Coaching for Results – This one-day course is designed to improve the essential skills supervisors need to enhance their ability to coach employees. By learning proper coaching techniques, supervisors and managers can raise the performance levels of their teams and increase value to the organization by building trust and solving problems. This course helps supervisors understand the importance and benefits of effectively coaching employees to improve work unit performance and provide the opportunity for participants to practice coaching skills.

Conflict Management - Conflict among employees is inevitable. In fact, one of the ten characteristics of highly performing teams is that “conflict is normal and expected.” However, the outcomes of conflict are not always predictable. This one-day course covers the ways that conflict is experienced on an individual level; how conflict progresses and escalates; and how conflict impacts others such as fellow employees in general and other members of teams/work groups. The course includes discussion of proven conflict management principles, provides strategies for dealing with conflict, and allows for practice of time-tested tools to help leaders manage the outcomes of conflict in work-related situations.

Employee Retention Tools and Techniques - This one-day course provides a strong understanding for how to retain the “best and the brightest” employees and their skill sets within your organization. Retention of high level employees adds to productivity, keeps hiring and retraining costs down, and can play an important role in company morale. This course prepares supervisors to: understand the practical and philosophical foundation for retaining employees;

learn ways to create a culture that fosters employee loyalty & satisfaction; develop a tangible retention plan; identify characteristics of the “best and brightest” employees - why they join, stay and leave, and the benefits of retaining them; and develop retention techniques and use tools that go beyond pay, benefits & recognition programs to create a culture of competency and commitment

Interpersonal Communications - In this one-day course participants will learn communication skills that are vital for success as a supervisor and leader. Skills taught will include how to communicate more effectively with subordinates, team members, peers, and upper management.

You will also practice applying your newly learned skills through role play and other instructional activities. This course prepares supervisors to: employ effective communication skills with others at all levels of the organization; clearly articulate expectations to employees;

improve listening, build positive team communications, and establish/maintain an atmosphere of trust; learn best practices to communicate changes in work objectives; and communicate expectations and work objectives to staff.

Leadership Seminar – this two-day workshop focuses on leadership with the emphasis that leadership occurs at all levels of an organization. The seminar provides a solid foundation of leadership philosophies, models, and styles as well as effective leadership tools. It looks at and creates understanding around vision and mission, promoting organizational values, and contributing to the overall culture. The seminar also examines understanding, embracing and mastering organizational strategy; understanding specific organizational leadership challenges;

understanding policy, procedures, and methods; engaging in thoughtful actions to support a performance culture; and engaging in the practice of leading change.

Motivating Your Employees – Motivation is a critical component of the productivity of organizations, groups, teams, and other working units. It is also directly related to the retention and productivity of individual employees. Leaders are responsible for motivating and inspiring employees to achieve individual and collective goals and objectives. This one-day workshop is designed to provide leaders with the skills and knowledge to create environments in which people are highly motivated to perform. When leaders are able to properly motivate employees, the path toward developing effective teams becomes much clearer. This course also incorporates a brief discussion of tools and methods to build and sustain effective teams.

Self-Assessment for Leadership: This one-day workshop helps participants learn how they relate to others by exploring motivational styles and conflict. The workshop centers on the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI). This inventory helps you assess the strengths you draw upon when you are faced with conflict in relationships. These principles can enhance your self-awareness as a leader within your organization and can also be applied in your personal relationships. The inventory contains two kinds of assessment: 1) how you respond to situations with others when all is going smoothly, and 2) how you relate to others when you are faced with conflict. In this workshop there will be opportunities for you to consider your own motivations, and how they impact your relationships with employees, peers, and supervisors.

Team Building and Team Development – This one-day workshop explores the importance of teams, team leadership, and the characteristics of effective teams. It is common practice for organizations to utilize teams to accomplish their goals, yet many employees are not sure what that looks like for them or what to expect as a team member. This course is designed to provide employees with the knowledge they need to participate on a team and to develop skills to help maximize their participation. In this course, participants will experience a range of team

Vantage Human Resource Services, Inc. GS-10F-0019J - 6 -development skills that will enable them to become a valued member of any team. Team leaders and members must possess a wide range of communication skills to accomplish their team’s goal. This course also provides leaders with the knowledge they need to lead a team and to identify and develop skills that will maximize their leadership. Through a variety of assessment activities and group participation, participants will learn insights and strategies to guide their team to success.

Training Workbooks – Vantage always provide workbooks for each training participant. These workbooks include relevant course materials that allow participants to follow along with the instructor. Handbooks for 10 participants are included in the workshop price. Additional workbooks for 11 or more participants are included in our proposal price list under support pricing.

Video B – Upon request by clients, Vantage will videotape a training session and provide a single CD or DVD containing 4 hours of edited video-taped training.

Assessment A – Vantage will provide participants access to our authorized web site containing the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment. Assessment B – Vantage will provide participants access to our authorized web site containing the Strength Deployment Indicator (SDI) assessment. Once participants complete the online assessment, Vantage will provide a copy of the individual assessment report during training.

Note, the SDI is a far more sophisticated report than the MBTI – thus the difference in price between Assessment A and Assessment B. This assessment is typically used in the Self- Assessment for Leadership workshop.

Report A – Following training, Vantage will provide a 5-10 page level 2 training evaluation report to clients that includes results of a survey administered to training participants 60-90 days after their training experience. Report B – Following training, Vantage will provide a 10-15 page level 3 training evaluation report to clients that includes results of a survey administered to training participants as well as interviews with selected participants and selected supervisors of training participants. Level 3 evaluation is based on changes in job performance resulting from the learning process.

Training Packet – Vantage will package any additional materials requested by a client into a supplemental training packet for each workshop participant. Training packets are limited to 15 pages.
