MINIMUM/GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Not less than ten years experience in studio facility operations and management and the technical direction of studio and remote network level broadcast productions, including: operations protocol and maintenance of cameras, recorders, editors, switchers, audio consoles, transmission systems and other systems used in broadcast production, standards for international broadcasting, protocols for file sharing, upload, and disseminating web broadcasting.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

This individual will be responsible for the smooth operation and working capacity of the technical equipment.

Duties include: maintaining the operational capacity of both the studio and remote production facilities, supervising the operation of a technical facility during recording or production to insure proper operation of equipment and compliance with applicable technical standards, balancing cameras, timing system, maintaining current software releases. Interfacing with manufacturers to insure proper equipment operations, supervising uploads, file transfers, file storage and retrieval, instructing operators in proper equipment operation, monitoring ongoing production materials for proper recording and transmission.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in the trade

Five or more years working as a producer responsible for delivering final productions, including some or all of the following: producing short-form programming using mixed media, including interactive elements and animation, producing or creating long-form program formats, directing shoots and live programming, hands-on editing and graphics work, translating creative brief to treatment to final product; ability to develop story arc for complex, conceptual issues for international audiences, working with graphics editors to develop illustrative representations of complex data and conceptual issues, proven track record executing program concepts and delivering work product on-time.

This individual will implement a package of content that may use mixed-media, such as video, audio, interactive graphics, interactive chat and other web-based communications tools. Work product may be long or short-form and may be live production or produced for later distribution. Most subject matter is factual. Duties include: developing creative concept to implement creative brief (strategy and messaging) as identified by supervisor or EP, developing script, storyboard, outline or treatment for approval, coordinating production elements including acquisition of content elements, which may include multi-media and interactive elements, as well as the typical gamut of interviews, location shots, b-roll, graphics, etc, designing and implementing the feel and style of the video work product, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure production is on schedule and consistent with the initial brief, working closely with talent/participants, attending meetings with high-level officials, teaching/training others on mixed media use and production techniques.

Two or more years working in a production environment including: performing elementary production activities, hands-on production experience in video or mixed media formats, hands-on production experience in camera, audio and lighting set-up and operations, hands-on experience with edit systems, graphics packages, computer programs. Duties include: coordinating production schedule to ensure all elements for a shoot or show are in place at the appointed time, researching and securing material and other content for the production, scouting locations and secures necessary permits/permissions, collaborating on creative treatment/show flow, operating camera, computer programs, audio, lighting and other production elements ensuring all elements are operational as required by the production schedules, working at the direction of the customer ensuring that sets, props and technical equipment are ready to use and in the right position, responsible for all communications with the audience and talent, cues talent and ensures timings are met, hauling and setting up equipment as necessary, may serve at the direction of the government to shoot live programming, editing, working with production team to formulate graphics or directly produces graphics, attending planning meetings with officials, producers and stake holders, performing promotional and marketing activities internally and externally, teaching/training others on elementary production principles.

Two or more years working with computer graphics system including: working in multiple formats for multiple media uses, data visualization of complex data, working with a variety of systems/graphics packages, conceptualizing visual elements and executing finished product, creating in a variety of formats in a variety of graphic styles.

This individual works at the direction of producers to implement specific graphic elements that include developing look-and-feel concepts and style guides to producing individual graphics for digital media use including video and web-based formats. Duties include: developing a range of graphics in a variety of media formats including video, html, PowerPoint or equivalents, developing style elements for shows, segments, presentations, online pages, print presentations and publications, may also be required to develop style guidelines, implementing concept to completion, troubleshooting graphics systems and packages resolving issues between systems, consulting on set design.

One year working in a professional setting; media, creative agency, or production facility (preferred but not required), including: working with detailed information, developing and maintaining tracking and reporting systems, using analytical skills, performing general office skills, working with Microsoft Office products and other database and presentation software, working in a media environment.
