Introduction to Human Resources Skills for Employees This can be a 1 or 2-day course depending upon topics requested by our customers. One day provides a broad overview of Federal employment rules including leave and absence, classification, performance management, and compensation. Two days allows for the addition of Federal benefits topics including health and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision insurance, long term care, and retirement. In today’s work environment when employees are required to in-process electronically and click through computer-based training in order to personally educate themselves on the rules, this course is specifically requested and appreciated by all Federal employees – those new to the system and those who have been employed for substantial amounts of time. It includes presentations, lecture, class discussion, and regulatory requirements.
50 $3,209.07
Teambuilding with DiSC This is a 1-day course which strives to teach team members about their own behavioral styles as well as those of peers. We cover positive communication, motivation, delegation, and workplace diversity. The course is designed to help people understand they can choose how to perceive and respond to events around them, and that it is in their control to change a negative outlook to one that’s positive. It is based upon the DiSC Behavioral Profile System and includes presentations, lecture, video demonstrations, facilitator-led discussion, shared personal experiences, small groups, and hands-on exercises.

The Supervision Decision While it has been evident for quite some time, the Merit Systems Protection Board released a report in late 2009 documenting tremendous problems within the Federal government caused by people being placed into supervisory roles simply because they are excellent technicians.
Once in these positions, many find that they lack the skills necessary to supervise others. This 1-day course introduces employees to the intricacies of what supervision factually entails. Through course materials, hands-on exercises, case studies, and facilitator-led discussion, it addresses the managerial role. Topics include a discussion about what is different between being an employee and being a supervisor, how to manage performance and conduct, how to motivate and delegate, how to transition from being a peer to being a supervisor. It provides employees the basis upon which to make an informed decision as to whether supervision is something they wish to pursue or not.
Federal Retirement: CSRS & Offset This 1-day course is specifically designed for Federal employees covered under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) either as straight CSRS or as CSRS-Offset. Further, there is a topical introduction of the 3-tier financial benefits newer employees will become eligible to receive: the Federal Employees Retirement System, Thrift Savings Program, and Social Security. Overview of The Thrift Savings Program This half-day course provides comprehensive information regarding the Thrift Savings Program (TSP). Its purpose is to assist employees, supervisors, and team members in becoming better communicators striving to understand each other and negotiate win-win solutions. The course is largely hands-on small group exercises and facilitator-led discussion.
