Course descriptions Continued:
6. Understanding Federal Benefits for Human Resource Practitioners.
This course is specifically designed to provide agency human resource staff with an understanding all of the Federal retirement systems (Civil Service Retirement System, CSRS Offset, and Federal Employees Retirement System), Thrift Savings Program, Social Security, Federal Employees Health Insurance, Federal Employees Group Life Insurance, Federal Employees Long Term Care, Medicare, Social Security, and other Federal benefits as requested. Each Human Resources’ course is tailored to the specific needs of the agency. Every seminar participant is provided with a comprehensive handbook, a detailed checklist, and extensive Federal benefits information so that they may assist Federal employees within their agency. This is a one - two and a half day course depending upon agency requests.
7. Orientation to Federal Benefits.
This course is specifically designed to provide an orientation of Federal benefits to newer Federal employees with an emphasis on what Federal employees need to do early in their career in order to maximize future benefits (e.g. Thrift Savings Program contributions). Provides a detailed overview of retirement options, the importance of military deposits and making those deposits early, health insurance, life insurance, Federal Long Term Care, Thrift Savings Program, and more. Every Federal participant is provided with a comprehensive handbook and extensive information regarding their current Federal benefits and how to maximize future benefits. This is a half day course. If only one ½ day class is requested, cost would be half of daily fee. OR agencies may want to offer two ½ days classes in one day to cover more participants for the daily cost.
8. Federal Retirement Forms Processing.
This course is specifically designed for Federal employees who have made a decision to retire and now need assistance in completing the required paperwork. Due to consolidation and down-sizing throughout the Federal government, many personnel offices either do not have the staffing or the expertise to provide this type of detailed information to employees. Each attendee will be asked to bring his/her retirement package to the seminar and we will go through every form line-by-line to ensure everything is complete. The seminar briefly covers eligibility requirements, creditable service, average high 3 salary computations, annuity computations (regular and disability retirement), deposits, re-deposits, prior military service, the FERS supplement, Medicare, cost of living increases, and Social Security. Detailed information will be provided regarding survivor benefit election options; health insurance and its interaction with Medicare; life insurance, and Federal Long Term Care decisions; and the Thrift Savings Program. If only one ½ day class is requested, cost would be half of daily fee. OR agencies may want to offer two ½ days classes in one day to cover more participants for the daily cost.
9. Alternative Dispute Resolution.
This course is designed for all Federal employees and supervisors. It is a comprehensive seminar based on resolving workplace disputes through managing conflict in an efficient and economical manner. Sub-topics include a history of alternative dispute resolution (specifically within the Federal government), mediation, arbitration, conflict resolution, and partnering for mutual gain by stressing problem solving over adversarial positions. This is a one-day course.
*In addition to the daily fee, total amount invoiced will include travel and per diem.
