Salient Characteristics S15051

The USGS Water Science Center in Pittsburgh, PA needs to purchase a water quality multiparameter data sonde. This equipment is to be used to monitor temperature, pH, dissolved-oxygen, conductivity, and total dissolved gas.

Mutiparameter Water Quality Sonde, Manta 2-30 and Sensors

Manta 2-30 (M2-30):

1. Must operate in fresh, sea, or polluted water.

2. Shall allow for field replaceable sensors.

3. Must include communications for RS-232, SDI-12, USB, and Bluetooth.

4. Must be compatible with optical sensors.

5. Measurements shall be taken simultaneously.

6. Shall operate in a temperature range of -5°C to +50°C.

7. Must include operating software.

8. Shall have an attachable battery pack for C-size batteries.

9. Shall have an overall length of no more than 19 inches and a diameter not to exceed 3 inches.

10. Must have operating depth range of 0 to 200m.

11. Shall have no less than a 2 year warranty.

12. Shall have capacity for no less than 7 sensors.

13. Shall have the ability to sore no less than 1,000,000 logged readings.

14. Must include weighted sensor guard.

15. Must include temperature sensor.

16. Must include PC cable.

pH Sensor (pH):

17. Shall have a range of 0 to 14 pH units.

18. Shall have a linearity of ± 0.2 units.

19. Shall have a resolution of 0.01 pH units.

20. Shall have a glass pH sensor that is Ag-AgCl refillable.

21. Shall require reference electrode, not included.

Referenc Electrode (ReferenceElec):

22. Shall be compatible with pH Sensor.

Optical Dissolved-oxygen Sensor (HDO):

23. Shall have a range of 0 to 20 mg/l and 0 to 200% sat.

24. Shall have a linearity of ± 0.2 mg/l and ±2%sat.

25. Shall have a resolution of 0.01 mg/l and 0.1% sat.

26. Shall be an optical sensor.

Conductivity Sensor (Conductivity):

27. Shall have a range of 0 to100 mS/cm.

28. Shall have a linearity of ± 1% of reading.

29. Shall have a resolution of 4 digits.

30. Shall have a linearity of ± 0.2 units.

31. Shall have 4 graphite electrodes.

Conductivity Sensor (Conductivity):

32. Shall have a range of 600 – 800 mm Hg.

33. Shall have a linearity of ±1 mm Hg.

34. Shall have a resolution of 0.1 mm Hg.

35. Shall have a pressure transducer with gas-permeable membrane.

SDI 12 Converter (SDI12Converter):

36. Shall convert multiprobe output to SDI-12.

Cable (Cable-M2-010m):

37. Shall be submergible.

38. Shall be 10 meters in length.

Case (Case-Small):

39. Shall have black, waterproof, hard sides.
