Salient Characteristics PR #0040145991
The Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility (HIF) needs to procure current meter signal processor devices to aid in the measurement and collection of streamflow data.
Current Meter Signal Processor Devices
Salient Features for Current Meter Signal Processor Devices
Shall be compatible with all impulse type current meters including Price AA and Pygmy type current meters, magnetic switch meters and cat whisker meters
Shall be capable of digitally processing and cleaning up (eliminating noisy signals) from Cat whisker and magnetic switch type meters
Shall allow for a direct velocity reading
Shall support velocity measurements over a range of at least 0.05 ft. /sec. to 50 ft. /sec
Shall be capable of mounting to the top of the USGS top setting wading rod
Shall be compatible with USGS SWAMI or SV Mobile Discharge Measurement software
Shall be capable of direct calculation of instantaneous and mean velocity
Shall be capable of displaying and producing a “spin test” record
Shall include a built-in LCD display, shall have at least 8 characters per line x 2 lines
Shall be capable of displaying total meter counts and elapsed time
Shall include a Bluetooth interface
Shall include a buzzer that produces an audible sound to indicate a switch closure
Shall include an RS-232 interface
Shall be powered from internal AA or AAA alkaline batteries
Shall operate over a range of temperatures from at least -5C to 50C, non-condensing
