Brand Name Justification under $250K

PMD Number: FY21-21947

Department: A Dept. A107

Company Name/Brand: Texas Instruments and Intel

Description of Product, Supplies or Services required to meet the agency’s needs:

Texas instrument 32-bit microcontroller

P/N F2080025CPNRS

Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)

P/N 10M04SCE144A7G

Identification of Justification Rational:

The Material or service must be compatible will aspects (Form, Fit, and Function) with existing systems presently installed.

A patent, copyright, proprietary data, or licensing agreement limits competition.

These are “direct replacement(s)” parts/components for existing equipment.

☐ Urgency.

Identification of the Justification Rationale Explained: **If using form, fit, and function, describe the current equipment and how the new item/service must coordinate or interface.

**If using patent, copyright, proprietary data, describe the proprietary data. **If using direct replacement, describe this below.

The Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and Digital Signal Processor (DSP) components are able to support the current software use with the Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and have features to support growth for future developments.

The FPGA/DSP components are part of the Interface CCA which resides in the Synchronize Bridge Rectifiers (SBR). The SBR design can be functionally separated into two sections: One is the digital control section and the other is the analog power section. The FPGA/DSP, part of the digital control section, are responsible to receive, validate and execute command messages from the Control Unit for the power application of the SBR.

Additionally, the FPGA/DSP have a circuit to perform real time fault monitoring to determine whether output power is out of range or if an over-voltage condition has occurred. In other words, the FPGA/DSP are critical components of the in support of maintaining .
