FIBERGLASS SHELTER SPECIFICATION

(for CO-OPS GREAT LAKES STATIONS)

General

1) One-Pieces Fiberglass shelter;

a) 6'-0” Wide x 8'-0” Long x 7'-6" High

b) One piece bonded shelter with Integral bonded floor and no external seams or joints.

c) Exterior and interior of shelter to be finished in white polyester gel coat.

d) Embed 3/4" Marine grade plywood panels fully covering all interior walls and floor.

e) Internal mounting flange 6” width around the perimeter of the shelter, core to be solid marine grade plywood, no foam in this flange.

f) 10”x10” intake gravity shutter with screen.

g) Two 20” diameter floor penetrations with solid marine grade plywood throughout this section.

h) Two 316 stainless steel removable lift eyes.

2) Door specification;

a) 36” Wide x 78” Tall door.

b) Left Hand Outswing door.

c) Insulated with 1” / ~ R7 embedded foam board.

d) Closed cell neoprene seal, heavy duty vinyl full threshold with single-flap door sweep and three stainless steel strap hinges and cushioned crash stop.

e) Stainless steel door handle and lockset provided by NOAA, and installed by Vendor.

f) Lexan 12" x 12" window installed in the door.

g) FRP drip cap over the door.

Insulation

1) Ceiling, walls and floor to have 2” embedded foam board core ~R14 insulation value.

2) Door to have 1” embedded foam board core ~R7 insulation value.

Loading

1) All design loads are in accordance with ASCE 7-16.

a) Wind loading rated for 135 MPH

b) Snow loading rated for 60 PSF.

c) Floor to have a solid marine plywood rib, same construction as internal mounting flange noted above.

Electrical

1) 125A, 120/240 VAC, 8 branch main lug circuit breaker panel;

a) Pre-wired (12 gauge non-metallic conduit) with; 6 x 120 VAC / 15A duplex receptacles, each receptacle on separate circuits with 15 A breaker.

b) See attached drawing for locations of conduit and receptacles.

c) Note: Single conduit runs 6” below ceiling with drops for all six receptacles.

2) 1500 watt heater with wall mounted thermostat that is capable of setting temperature at minimum 5 degree F increments.

3) Exhaust fan with FRP exhaust hood, 500-700 CFM with humidistat control.

4) 100 Watt Vapor tight incandescent Jelly Jar fixture with A21 base with interior weatherproof light switch and spare cover.

Warranty

1) 2 years minimum manufacturer warranty on all materials and labor.
