NO APPOINTMENTS FOR PRESENTATIONS WILL BE MADE.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Acquisitions and Grants Services (OAGS) has issued this sources sought announcement on behalf of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) in order to determine if there are existing small business sources capable of providing annual preventive and corrective maintenance services for the following Equipment: HiSeq 2500 (Serial Number: 7001029), MiSeq (Serial Number:M01542), cBOT (Serial Number: 6001205), and iCompute (Serial Number: IC-51132863) (Base + 3 1-year Maintenance Option periods).
If your firm is considered a small business source under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811219 – Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance;
with a Small Business Size Standard of $20.5 Million, and believe that your firm would be able to provide the FDA with the services described below, please submit an email to Yolanda.peer@fda.hhs.gov. The vendor should include information about the company and demonstrate that it can meet all of the minimum performance requirements.
Background: The FDA/CBER currently owns the following equipment: HiSeq 2500 (Serial Number: 7001029), MiSeq (Serial Number:M01542), cBOT (Serial Number: 60012053), and iCompute (Serial Number: IC-51132863). The equipment is currently covered under Purchase Order: HHSF223201110060A and the Maintenance agreement will expire on November 2, 2015 and the iCompute Maintenance agreement will expire on November 11, 2015. The Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research conducts research as well as perform regulatory functions. To meet the needs of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) sequencing efforts using next generation sequencing (NGS), the Facility for Biotechnology Resources (FBR) is equipped with an llumina HiSeq 2500 and Mi-Seq next generation sequencers and is providing NGS services for CBER scientists. The success of NGS relies greatly on how DNA is efficiently extracted, fragmented into desired-size fragments. The adequately-sized DNA templates are then amplified to generate multiple copies for each individual fragment (called “ library”) before the sequencing reaction is carried out. FBR uses an Illumina cBOT for efficient library generation. The data generated in a sequencer is huge requiring data server for converting to useful files and mapping to a database. This is done by using Illunina iComputer. Both Illumina HiSeq2500, MiSeq, and cBOT, as well as iCompute are therefore essential instruments for CBER’s next generation sequencing service.
These systems are operative on a daily basis and is in need of a Preventive and Corrective Maintenance agreement.
