LATHE - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Q: Is this a conventional or CNC Lathe?

A: Conventional

Q: Will onsite training be part of the package?

A: No.

Q: Is the 30 day delivery a hard required delivery date, or are later deliveries acceptable?

A: We will accept delivery up to 180 days. The requirement document has been changed to reflect this

Q: Milling is mentioned in the SOW, what type of spindle and speeds are requested?

A: No milling will be required so the spindle/speeds do not need to be called out as engine lathes have a wide variety of speeds to cover all applications.

Q: Would you accept a VTL as a substitute for a bed lathe?

A: We cannot accept VTL.

Q: Are Foundations part of this Solicitation?

A: If this refers to anchoring to the ground then no. We can use the existing foundation.

Q: Is rigging, electrical part of this Solicitation?

A: No.

Q: Will there be a tooling package as part of this project?

A: No.

Q: What type of quick change tooling post is required?

A: Any quick change tooling post or quick release tool post is acceptable

Q: What size do you want for steady rest range?

A: The engine lathe should come standard with a steady rest that comes standard that can cover multiple diameters. The standard range is fine.
