High Power Global Positioning System (GPS) Antennas
Requirements Document
For
704th Test Group/746th Test Squadron
1.0 PURPOSE
The 746th Test Squadron (746 TS) provides expert test and evaluation of Navigation Warfare
Systems. The 746 TS requires unique high power components and systems that work in the GPS frequencies such as amplifiers and antennas.
GPS jamming testing for the squadron has increased threefold in the last 3 years and as a result our number of assets have been increased to keep up with the testing demands. Given that the jammer power transmission performance is mostly defined by the antenna specifications, the antennas are a critical part of the jammer. The squadron requires Cobham omni-directional antennas that comply with threat and customer’s requirements.
2.0 SCOPE
The Contractor shall provide Cobham omni-directional antennas that meet the following requirements:
2.1 Qty 5 EA– L1 GPS Hemi-Omni Antennas (P/N: CHA6-1.6R/2307)
2.1.1 L1 Frequency: 1575.42 +/- 12 MHz
2.1.2 Gain: minimum 6 dBic
2.1.3 Polarization: RHCP
2.1.4 Axial Ratio: < 3
2.1.5 VSWR: 2:1 max
