II. Nature and/or description of the action being processed:

USAFSAM was directed to "conduct measurements to quantify the performance of attenuation of hearing protectors, and attenuation and speech intelligibility of communication headsets/ microphones" to assist· Bioenvironmental Engineering in estimating hearing protection attenuation, at-the-ear noise exposure levels and evaluate hearing protection devices (HPDs) for local use including local purchase items and HPDs for special applications. This effort will develop data needed to determine the effectiveness of currently fielded HPDs. The contractor shall provide testing facilities and test equipment, test su�jects, and the hearing protection devices used to acquire attenuation data sets as described in ANSI S 12.6 Method A for ten ( 10) hearing protection devices and provide a data report for each hearing protection device. The contractor shall ensure testing is performed by a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accredited laboratory. The period of performance for this effort is approximately three (3) weeks from contract award. The contract will be Firm-Fixed Price with Labor and Data (NSP). Options will not be utilized.
