Charleston AFB, SC Questions/Answers Set 1 14 March 2023 Questions/Responses:
1. Appendix A Gravity Roller Conveyors, in section 3.2.6.3 the requirements indicate the GRC shall be galvanized. In Appendix B – for Ball Transfer Conveyor the ball transfer frames, guiderails, and decking – galvanizing is not listed as a requirement. Is the Ball Transfer Conveyor also to be galvanized like the Gravity Roller Conveyor part of the system?
Yes - ball transfer frames and treadplates (specified in 3.2.1.3. as a “combined single unit”) shall be galvanized. A revised Appendix B has been provided to clarify this.
