Question Set 2 FA8604-20-R-8101 Eielson AFB, AK Question 1:

For the Eielson AFB cabinet supported mezzaning the customer will want to consider switching the 4 - YD double 60” wide cabinets to the upper position in this configuration with the 8 - XDC standard 30” wide cabinets to the floor or lower level and keeping the 1 – YD on the floor with these XDC’s. I’ve highlighted the cabinets on the drawing attached to be switched. Stacking the 30” cabinets on top of the 60” will create stress points that will eventually cause the drawers in the 60” cabinet to stick or not open at all.

For stacking MDC’s 60” wide & 30” wide we recommend the following:

You can always place a 60” wide on top of another 60” wide.

Also you can place the 60” wide on top of 2 @ 30” wide.

You cannot place 2 @ 30” wide on top of the 60” wide.

The sheet metal to center of the 60” wide will experience stress points created by 2 @ 30” wide

Answer 1:

Agree with switching position of 30” cabinets to lower level and 60” cabinets to upper level. See AF drawing PEL 701-02 REV A.

Question 2: Do we need to provide the foam lining for the cabinet drawers without compartments? If so, could you please describe the type of foam lining i.e. Plain or the type that is used to create cutouts to hold tools?

Answer 2: All cabinets with “F” designation (XF, YF) are provided with foam lining. Foam shall be the type used to create tool cutouts.

Question 3: Is there a site visit scheduled in the near future.

Answer 3: You are welcome to schedule a site visit (at your expense) by contacting the Base Project Officer. The BPO’s contact information can be found in the RFP, Attachment 8 “Contractor Information”. This optional site visit is not chargeable to the Government or any anticipated contract.

Question 4: Will this job be under prevailing wage (David/Bacon) or regular hourly wages

Answer 4: As this is considered a supply requirement with incidental service, this acquisition is not subject to the Davis Bacon Act or prevailing wage rates.

Question 5: For the modification to existing system, removal of mezzanines. Looking at the drawing PEL701-02 is there any type of roll up doors for the mezzanine removal other than the 3 regular sized doors.
