Luke AFB RFP Questions set 2 - 26 Jun 19
Question 2: Would it be possible to get the building clear height where the bridge crane is going in?
Answer: The roof is pitched from walls to high point in middle of each bay at an approximate 18.5 degree angle. It was measured an approximate 23’ high clear height at a distance of 24’ from each wall. Given the runways of the cranes are nominally 25’ to 26’ from the walls in each bay the clear height is approximately 23’-4” to 23’-8” at the crane runways and again peaked higher into the middle of the bays.
Question 3: Appendix A 3.2.6.1. & 3.2.6.5.1.
We do not have a 2 speed option available for the bridge and trolley motors. We would like to know if a Variable Frequency Drive would be acceptable. All speeds and other requirements in the appendix will be met with the Variable Frequency Drive.
Answer: Yes, Variable Frequency Drive is acceptable.
Question 4: Wanted to get some clarifications on the crane spec, in section 4.3 Certifications, it says that the contractor shall provide certification the following requirements have been met, then it lists all certification requirements.
Can you please clarify what is meant by certifications for all these items? What kind of documentation will be required here?
Is this just a self-certification?
Answer: Documentation when available and self-certification in all other cases.
Luke AFB RFP Questions set 1 - 10 Jun 19
Question 1: In regards to the language used for items 0002 – 0007 in the RFP, “the contractor shall manufacture and deliver” will only manufacturers be allowed to bid? Or will you accept contractors that are approved distributors of the products mentioned?
Answer: Yes, we accept contractors that are approved distributors of the products mentioned. Most of the contractors that bid our projects are general contractors that buy all of the products from other distributors, assemble, and install the product mentioned in the request for proposal.
