SPECIFICATIONS

The following is a list of requirements for purchase of Stabinger Viscometer Instruments. These instruments will be used to test for Dynamic Viscosity and Density of Liquid Petroleum Products and Crude Oils at all of the Air Force Petroleum Agency’s Aerospace Fuels Laboratories.

The Stabinger Viscometer instrument must fully comply with ASTM D7042-14 test methodology for the determination of Dynamic Viscosity and Density of Liquid

Petroleum Products and Crude Oils (non-negotiable) o Must comply with ASTM D7042-14 precision and bias requirements

The Instrument must be fully automated with no pre-sample preparation required and no calculations required to obtain final results o Must be able to measure the resistance to flow or to deformation of a liquid under external shear force o Must consist of a pair of rotating concentric cylinders and an oscillating U-tube which is surrounded by a copper block o Must have a thermoelectric heating and cooling system to ensure the temperature stability of the copper block remains within +/- 0.005°C from the set temperature at the positon of the viscosity cell over the whole temperature range from 15°C to 100°C

Results of tests from this instrument must be within set parameters o Dynamic Viscosity should range between 0.2 to 20 000 mPa.s o Kinematic Viscosity should range between 0.2 to 20 000 mm2/s o Density results should range between 0.65 to 3 g/cm3 o Repeatability is typically 0.10% / 0.0002 g/cm3 / 0.005°C o Reproducibility is typically 0.35% / 0.0005 g/cm3 / 0.02°C
