Purchase Specifications
7/26/2018
Workbench and Worktable Requirements for New Flight Controls Shop at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
This is a Brand Name or Equal requirement. The Brand Name is Lista. Tables 1 and 2 show the Lista part numbers. The dimensions below have a tolerance which varies from the Lista parts, to allow other contractors to respond to the sources sought and to the solicitation.
Contractor will supply 23 new workbenches, each of which meets the following criteria. Each criterion is followed by a reference number to a part number which fulfills that criterion, found in Table 1. These part numbers are provided as a suggestion, and are not required for an acceptable quote. Parts used to fulfill the requirements need not be made by Lista, however all parts used in an acceptable quote must be mutually compatible.
Workbenches will be 86”-96.5” inches long at the work surface (1). If work surface is less than 95.5” long, the workbench will also include:
o A computer console support on a pivoting arm, capable of holding a keyboard, monitor, and mousepad. (2, 3)
The work surface will be 29-32” inches deep (1).
The work surface will be made of a 1.4” to 2” thick hardwood table surface (such as Ash) with a rounded edge facing the user (1).
The work surface will be equipped with a backstop 1” to 5” tall to prevent small parts from rolling off the back of the work table. (4)
The work surface and the frame it rests on will be rated to hold at least an 800-lb distributed load. (1, 5)
The work table surface will rest on a frame which allows the height of the work surface to be adjusted without tools. This must allow the minimum height of the work surface to be less than 31”, and the maximum height of the work surface to be greater than 37”. This may be accomplished using either a push-button system, or a hand crank (5). If a hand crank is used, the crank handle should be easily removable or foldable, so as not to protrude from the front of the bench more than 1.5” when not in use.
The workbench frame will rest on electrostatic dissipative (ESD) casters. At least 2 of the casters will have a locking mechanism. (6)
The workbench will include one hanging cabinet with three drawers, positioned at one side of the work bench just below the work surface. (7)
The work bench will include a modular frame mounted at the rear of the work surface, extending usable area 40” to 50” above the work table surface. The modular frame will consist of three supports which are equally spaced 40"-46” apart, allowing accessories mounted on the modular frame to be moved and rearranged on either side of the workbench. (8, 9)
The modular frame will include a bracket or fixed top shelf to support an overhead light or lights. (10, 11)
Accessories to be mounted on the modular frame will include:
o A binder/document holder at least 16" wide on a pivoting arm. (12) o A 40"-46” wide magnetic whiteboard at least 24" tall. (13) o Two 40"-46” wide, 10-14” deep adjustable shelves which are reversible and can be configured to either sit flat with a lip in back, or sit sloped toward the technician with a lip in front. (14) o A 40"-46” wide storage cabinet with door(s), whose door(s) will not cover the top of the cabinet when opened. (15, 16) o One 110 Volt AC GFCI power rail with at least 6 standard power outlets. (17) o One 40"-46” wide rail for holding small, plastic, open storage containers, including two 6 x 6 x 2 inch boxes, and two 3 x 6 x 3 inch boxes. (18, 19, 20)
It is preferred that all painted parts be black. Any other dark color is also acceptable, as is unpainted stainless steel. If locks are included on the cabinets/drawers (not required), two keys shall be provided for each lock.
Contractor shall provide a concept drawing of their proposed solution.
