Procure Mode 5 RES upgrade (2 channel Radar Simulator Extension and RES Upgrade for Mode 5) to modify our existing RES equipment. The RES interface with various radar systems and generates air traffic scenarios and specific RF signatures/ identification of aircraft targets to test/evaluate their operations. The upgrade will add the Mode 5 functionality to the RES to be able to test/assess Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capability of air defense sensors to mitigate fratricide between our military forces and allies. This upgrade allows tester to analyze data in acquiring results to work towards AIMS certification to implement M5 functionality to real world operations.

Purchase Mode 5 upgrade for the current Radar Environment Simulator (RES) portion of our existing Radar Analysis Support System (RASS) equipment from

The upgrade being purchased is required to function with the RASS-S software package. Market research has indicated that no other piece of test equipment interfaces with this software besides Intersoft hardware.

In order for this requirement to be open for competition, 84 RADES would have to procure an entirely new software that would not only meet the needs of the mission, but also be compatible with other specialized equipment.
