QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 1: Are Seismic Analysis and Drawings (stamped by a Utah-licensed Professional Engineer) required or will installation & anchoring suitable for Seismic Zone 4 be sufficient?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 1: The specification requirement stipulates seismic 4 zone conditions therefore the vendor certifies compliance.

2. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 2: Will all the machines be stand-alone or will some units be side-by-side?

Or are they a Starter with additions?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 2: One configuration of 4 is a cluster and the other a side by side.

Please carefully review the Purchase Description and Appendix “A” provided with the solicitation.

3. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 3: Is a layout drawing of the building(s) available? If so, does the drawing show existing sprinkler lines, 480 Volt power source and location(s) of intended VLMs?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 3: No, a layout drawing will not be provided. Power (480 Volt) disconnect boxes will be located near each VLM. Fire protection sprinkler lines will also be located near each VLM. If a vendor requires a site visit for VLM's location determination, an email request will need to be sent to the Contracting Office.

4. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 4: Existing floor details - such as concrete slab thickness, etc.?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 4: Hangar Floor concrete floor is 12" thick.

5. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 5: Is a loading dock available?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 5: A loading dock is not available. The vendor is required to utilize trailer unloading equipment sufficient to comply with safety requirements.

6. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 6: Will there be a walk-through scheduled?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 6: If a vendor requires a site visit for the VLM's, an email request will need to be sent to the Contracting Office. Two of the VLM's are intended for the existing F-35 secured area, therefore security arrangements are required prior to access.

This requires clearances for each individual attending the site visit. For the awardee only, a postaward meeting with the Project Engineer will be arranged for site inspections and way-ahead discussion.

7. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 7: The Service Door is required to be 18 inches +/- 6 inches from the floor.

What is the purpose of this requirement?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 7: In accordance with (IAW) Appendix A, Section 3.2.8.2 “A removable or hinged service panel shall provide for maintenance access to operating parts such as motors, brakes, and reducers. The panel shall be equipped with safety interlock

Dated: 15-JUN-18 switches to prevent the unit from operating when the service panel is open.” and IAW Appendix A Section 3.2.9. “All parts requiring maintenance shall be easily accessible.”

8. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 8: Will drawings showing placement and clear height of the installation area and dimensions L x W x D x H be provided?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 8: Refer to Government Answer #3. The VLM specifications were predetermined to meet the existing clearance requirements.

9. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 9: Will Hill AFB Supply the power to the installation location in the bldg.'s leaving the drop for the manufacturer install team to connect? If not, can you provide the distance we need to run the power to the install site?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 9: Refer to Government Answer #3

10. CONTRACTOR QUESTION 10: Would you please indicate who the approved fire suppression companies that are permitted on base (e.g. already approved contract holder) to install the equipment?

• GOVERNMENT ANSWER 10: IAW Appendix A Section 3.2.15. The “contractor is responsible for installation of complete fire suppression system.” Base Civil Engineering will locate fire suppression lines near the VLM's. The requirement is to connect the VLM to the existing fire suppression system stub.
