Questions and Answers on RFQ FA820117R0006 – MMHS VLM Vertical Lift Modules Question: Would you be able to find out who will be responsible for the sprinklers within the unit?

Response: Appendix "A" Paragraph 3.2.15 stipulates the manufacture must install internal fire suppression that provides a stub connection to facilitate connection to the building system. “Two (2) sprinkler heads shall be installed at the top of each VLM. The sprinkler heads and piping shall be designed to provide a minimum of 18 GPM with a single connection point. Piping for VLM’s located side-by-side shall utilize the same piping. Fire suppression drawings and calculations shall be provided and approved before installation of the VLMs is started. Drawings shall show an installation diagram and connection point to existing building site fire suppression system. Contractor is responsible for installation of the complete fire suppression system.”

Question: Who will be responsible to bring the power to the unit?

Response: A power disconnect will be located adjacent to the VLM and the contractor is responsible to make the connection.

Question: Does the client needs 2,000 lbs per tray?

Response: The specifications requirement stipulates 1000 pound minimum load capacity. “Each tray shall have a minimum live load capacity of 1,000 pounds minimum with no deformation greater than .01 percent”
