Technical Specifications

To be technically acceptable the reamers and core drills, must meet these requirements:

1. Chucking reamers must have straight 6 flute with approximate ¼” pilot

2. Core drills must have twisted 4 flute with approximate ¼” to ½” pilot

3. Threaded reamers must be ¼” 28 thread

4. Flute hardness must be within of 65.5 – 67.5 RC

5. Shank hardness must be with 45 – 67.5 RC with the last 1 ½ inch 30 – 45 RC

6. All reamers and core drills with a chucking end/shank that measures over .500 will be turned down to .500 and have tri-flats added to accommodate mechanics drills

7. Must be delivered within 45 days or less after the contract is awarded

8. All reamers and core drills shall be made and manufactured in the USA and be made of cobalt steel material

All reamers and core drills shall be of the following requirements and sizes:

Piloted Threaded Reamers:

1. Reamers must be made of cobalt steel

2. Reamers must have ¼-28 threaded end

3. Overall length shall be approximately 2 1/8th inch

4. Pilots on all threaded reamers shall be approximately ¼ in length

5. Reamers must meet the following sizes and quantities:

Piloted Core Drills:

1. All piloted core drills must be made of cobalt steel

2. Any piloted core drill with the chucking end that measures over .500 inch diameter will have the chucking end turned down to .500 inch and have tri-flats added to accommodate mechanics drills.

3. Pilot lengths shall be between .250 inch on smaller core drills to .500 inch on larger core drills except where noted on chart below for special 2 inch long pilots

4. Overall lengths may vary between 5 inches on smaller core drills to 10 inches on larger core drills

Chucking Reamers, Piloted/Non-Piloted:

1. All chucking reamers will be made of cobalt steel

2. Any chucking reamer with the chucking end diameter over .500 inch will have the chucking end turned down to .500 inch and have tri-flats added to accommodate mechanics drills

3. Overall lengths may vary from approximately 4 ½ inch to 7 inches

4. Pilot lengths may vary from approximately 3/16 inch to 5/16 inch

5. Cutting lengths may vary from approximately 1 ¼ inch to 2 ¼ inch.

6. All chucking reamers shall be piloted except as noted on the chart below
