76 AMXG is requesting the purchase of one (1) Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) bench with three (3) directional magnetic particle multi-directional inspection system. It must meet or exceed the following salient characteristics:

1. Detail Description:

a. Tank constructed of 304 stainless steel, fitted with hardwood grille(s).

b. Headstock shall be able to accept a 41 inch part.

c. Two 5 turn field flow fixtures (15,000 ampere turns) and one (1) sixteen (16) inch rail mounted 5 turn coil.

d. AC output 5000 amperes

e. HWDC output 5000 amperes

f. FWDC output 6000 amperes

g. Each mode, AC, HWDC, FWDC, induction fixtures, coil or head shot is separately controlled by one of three infinitely variable outputs.

h. Automatic reversing DC demagnetization and automatic AC ramp down demagnetization.

i. Quick break circuitry to ensure maximum residual field and maximum repeatability of inspection results.

j. Electronic controls including self-indicating plug-in modules for reliability and ease of maintenance.

k. Power supplies equipped with thermal overload protection.

l. Infinitely variable, current control in each of three power supplies for magnetizing current selection between zero and maximum output.

m. An adjustable digital shot timer.

n. Equipped with a separate digital ammeter for each of the three power supplies.

o. Agitation system to maintain the magnetic particle suspension concentration.

p. An application hose with nozzle.

q. Pneumatically operated headstock clamping device controlled by a foot switch activation.

r. The tailstock is of the hand crank type with a positive lock.

s. Control console of the various switches for choice of current, conventional mode and multi-directional mode, magnetization or demagnetization and for contact or coil in both the conventional and multi-directional mode.

t. Folding Hood with Fan Console, White light and fan cooled black light with universal fixture.

2. Foreign Object Damage: The unit shall be designed to prevent loss of components, which could generate foreign object damage to weapon systems or engines.
