Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer Purcha e Technical Requirements Package

1.0 Scope: This is for the purchase of a Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (SIMS) for Schafer Vallecitos Laboratory/Advanced Environmental Measurements (SVL/AEM) facility. This item will be replacing an obsolete Cameca IMS 4f SIMS.
2 .0 Delivery Date: The instrument shall be delivered and installed by the contractor at SVL/AEM facility by 30 Sep 17 (i\001. /\002).
3.0 Item Description: This requirement is for a BR/\1 D NAMl: OR EQUAL SIM instrument used to analyze the composition of materials to determine the elemental. isotopic. or molecular composition. This item will be replacing an obsolete Cameca IMS 4f.

Magnetic sector mass spectrometer with high mass reso lution.
Imaging mass spectrometer (also ca lled an ion microscope) with software developed speciticall) for searching for and anal) zing particles .
. hall have automation features which aid in alignment and allow scllings for various conditions to be stored and recalled.
hall have post-acceleration to improve detection efficiency and a high -brightness duoplasmatron source for increased primary ion current density.
Shall have a two sample holder capacity airlock to allow a sample to be pre pumped while a sample is being ana lyzed.
Automated Slits and Aperatu res with automatic secondary bean alignment
. tigmatic analyzer & Optical gating with higher density beams of reactive ions (Cs• and 0 2+)
3.2 Installation: The contractor shall install the SIMS instrument at the VL/AEM facility.
The contractor shall communicate'' ith SVL/AEM facility to ensure the facility meets installation requirements for the SIMS instrument. The required facility site requirements include (but not limited to) (/\00 I. A002):

3.2.3 Electrical : The contractor sha ll install any requirements to the electrical outlets to support new instrument. The contractor shall ensure the installation meets the folio" ing specifications:

3.2.3.1 The contractor shall purchase nnd install uninterrupted pO\H!r supply (lJPS) and transformer to support instrument use.
3.2.3.1.1 The UPS shall be installed at a min imum 3 m from the SIMS instrument.

3.2.5.1 /\ir Compressor: The contractor shall purchase and install air compressor to meet instrument requirements.
3.2.5.2 Rough Pump: The contractor shall purchase and install rough pump to meet instrument requirements.

3.2.6 Site preparation: The contractor shall prov ide any site demolition. fixtures.
support equipment required to prepare the site for installation.
3.2.6. 1 Instrument Removal and In tallation: The contractor shall provide rigging for removal of the current instrument and delivery and insta ll ation of the ne\v instrument.
3.2.6.2 The contractor shall coordinate site demolition \\ ith VL/AE I.
3.2.6.3 The contractor shall provide and install specialized plumbing and sink to support instrument requirements.
3.2.6...l The contractor shall provide and install chase aluminum frame and hardware to support instrument use.
3.2.6.5 The contractor shall provide and install LED lighting to new instrument space.
3.2.6.6 Vibration Survcv: The contractor shall complete a vibration and magnetic su rvey prior to installation. Ir the vibration study indicates remediation to meet vibration requirements. anti-vibration measures sh al I be completed. The contractor shall meet the following vibration requirement :
