A: 1,250 Blankets and 1,250 Comforters
2. Also clarify the 1 each is that a sample for evaluation prior to full production? Will this sample need to be presented at time of Solicitation close Date?
A: The First Articles will be due as soon as possible after award and must pass inspection before full production.
3. Will these be shipping to a warehouse that will have a loading dock that a lift gate or ramp is not needed for offloading delivery?
A: There is a loading dock at the warehouse.
4. with all of the labor Intense detail specifications the 90 day ARO might be a challenge can that be evaluated at time of Award for delivery of product?
A: Delivery schedule remains 90 Days ARO.
5. Have you purchased these in the past?
A: Yes
6. If so whom did you get them from and around what was the price point per unit?
A: The previous contract number was FA700023P0007.
7. I am being asked on the 90 days again if this can be split with half within 90 days and the balance within 60 days after?
A: No, the order cannot be split. The delivery schedule for the entire order remains 90 Days
ARO.
8. Was this the same quantities of 1250 for blankets and 1250 for comforters?
A: No, the quantities vary every year.
9. So this year will be blue only where last year was gold correct?
A: Correct
10. The fabric weight for the blanket listed in the RFQ shows 10.6 oz/yd² (approx. 251gsm). The blanket size is 67"x 90” so the net weight for the blanket would be 2.266 lbs. At the same time, the requirement lists that the blanket should “not be less than 3 lbs”. Will this be acceptable?
A: No, that will not be acceptable. I've included the calculations below which clearly show that the weight of our blanket should be over 3 lbs. if done according to our specifications, and indeed, this standard has worked for us for over a decade. In the next edition of the PD, we will consider leaving out the 10.6 oz per square yard since the final weight of the product is the major requirement. We have discovered this over time.
Weight Area
10.600 oz 1 yd2
49.290 oz 4.65 yd2
3.081 lbs 67" X 90"
11. The fabric quality listed is “Double Velour”, which is a generic term. Are they looking for Polarfleece or Microfleece?
A: The double velour requirement is not a type. It is the finish of the fabric. Polartec is a type of fleece that would meet our requirements versus microfleece, which would not meet our requirements. We don't use the word Polartec in the PD because it doubles as a fleece brand name. Instead, we describe it.
