Frequency Converters Questions:
Q1.
The request is for 8 400Hz frequency converters, however only 5 400Hz cables (4x60ft. and 1x100ft.). Is this correct?
A1 - An amendment has been made to update the request to (4x60ft 400hz Cables and 4x100ft 400hz Cables).
Q2.
Line 13) Built to comply with LMCO F35 (or equally compatible) interface spec.
“This is referring to a F35 which is 270VDC on the Output of the Frequency Converter.
Nowhere in the specifications does it mention 270VDC”.
Normally Frequency Converter refers to 60Hz input to 400Hz output - 200/115 VAC.
Is this for use with a F35 with 270VDC or an Aircraft that requires 400Hz or either – Combo type Frequency Converter.
Please clarify as this is very important to know which system to bid/provide.
A2 – Line 13) “Built to comply with LMCO F35 (or equally compatible) interface spec.” has been omitted from the solicitation. The Frequency Converter will be used for Aircraft that requires 400Hz.
Q3.
CLIN 0001
Line2) Integrated Stand.
The system sits on 4” Plinth (stand), is this what they are referring to as an Integrated Stand? Or Are they are referring to the 400Hz/270VDC unit that has a bottom piece that looks like a integrated Stand?
A3 –An amendment has been made to clarify the integrated stand is referring to the 4 inch stand that the system sits on.
Q4.
Will this requirement be revised to a Small Business Set Aside?
A4 - Due to our overseas location at Kadena Air Base Okinawa Japan, in accordance with FAR 19.000(b), Small Business Programs pertain only in the United States or its outlying areas and therefor the solicitation will not be revised for small business set aside.
Q5.
Please revise NAICS code reflect 335312 as ‘Frequency Converters’ are included within the description and more applicable to equipment under solicitation.
A5 – An amendment has been made to change the NAICS Code from 221122 to 335312.
